Situated just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, White Pines Golf Club has been a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The club offers two courses, the East and the West. The West Course is longer than the East by 400 yards and considered slightly more challenging. The layout is relatively tight and there is an abundance of trees, which means you'll need to be accurate to do well. The greens are large and challenging with difficult-to-read breaks. There is also minimal, but strategic bunkering along the greensides. The fairways provide plenty of variety with some that are narrow and heavily tree-lined and others that are wide with no trees in sight. The golf course has several challenging holes but it's forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence.

Worst golf course in illinois
Nothing looks to be maintained. If you dont hit the ball dorectly in the fairway, you will never find it again. They dont cut the grass maintain anythinh and the greens are disgusting.
Not worth the price!
DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE TO GOLF HERE!. Course is not worth the price. The conditions r quite bad tee boxes r in awful shape. The pace of play is super slow waiting 15mins on tee boxes. The GPS on carts do not work. Course is overrun by a bunch frat hacks. Make it ur last resort to golf here. One of the worst courses in northwest suburbs for the price.
They’re trying!
I heard the park district contemplated selling the property but decided to keep it and invest in it. That’s great! A little more TLC on bunkers, tee boxes, and cart paths would go a long way. It’s a nice property, and the courses are fair for ordinary muni golfers.
Bad shape
GPS in carts not working
No signage on the Course for any of the holes
Tee boxes were littered with broken tees
Greens were slow
Staff is nice and they had a drink cart on the course
Nice course in wooded area
Very nice course in wooded area. Challenging from the tips. Greens were terrific. Definitely worth playing.
