Salt Creek
It's a good course to just fu*" off on. Everyone is cool out there.
Great course with a lot of amenities
The course was very short, which isn’t bad for the beginning of the season, but when we played the blue set of holes, there was a huge backlog of people
Confusing layout
Played here for the first time, thankfully they were even open but the course was soaked (understandable due to all the rain we’ve had) I booked 18 walking however when we got there it was 2 9 hole courses, when we finished the first 9 (Blue) we were supposed to play the white course for the second 9 but there was a six some on the tee box. When we asked about it we were told to “Just Jump in wherever or play the blue course again) very disappointed
Early Season
We like playing this golf course. Two nines, one on the shorter, simpler side (White), one a bit more challenging (Blue). Note, no par 5s but some very long par 4s. Course was in decent shape for early in the season. Staff is still working to get it opened. Tee boxes unmarked. Some greens needed work. Walking only. No power carts. All in all, still wonderful to play early in the year. Should be in tip top shape by their first outing .
Walking Rate
This course is an experience with potential. We had no tee box locations throughout 18 holes so we used our radars to gauge the distance. Some holes we could not meet the distance as the flags were pulled up too short. The conditions of the tee box, fairways and greens were all left to be desired. As a beginner course there is etiquette to be taught for attendees and the course could benefit from obtaining more and better push carts as many golfers were left without one available to use. Potential is there, current operation can leave players disappointed.
early golf in chicago land
though it is early in the year , I have played other courses that have opened up early , but are in better shape . I've played it twice in 2 weeks , and the same tree branch debris is still on the course and greens . i would if you are open for play , they should at least blow off greens and pick up branches .
Just ok
- Course is small and feels cramped
- Tee boxes were mostly weeds
- On the back nine, I'm pretty sure a group of kids behind us cut the line and then hit into us several times.
- No food at the turn at 10am.
First time here
The course is in really nice shape, the greens well manicured and even the sand traps raked and prepared for play. The staff were quite friendly and accommodating.
Playing 18 holes took us a little over 4 hours, which wasn't too bad. The back nine was a little backed up and slower than the front 9.
Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and like the course.
MM Salt Creek
Course played well, tee boxes were full of crab grass.
Beginners course
Was very sloooooowwww pace. Lots of beginners. All beginners deserve to golf of course and they paid just like anyone else. It was just painfully slow. Otherwise the course was in great shape. Its definitely a feel good about your game course with lots of short holes.
Course was mehhh
Course was wonky not sure if there re doing the course of what but it was kinda hard to navigate and my 18 birdies app did not work at all on this course and I use it all the time so not sure what was going on but green distances were way off and different
Not playing again
The only real bright spot at this course is the attached driving range—which honestly feels more like a Topgolf experience than your typical warm-up spot. It’s well set up, fun, and probably the best part of the whole facility.
Unfortunately, once you get past the range, things go downhill. The pace of play was painfully slow during my round, and while the ranger made laps around the course, there was zero enforcement happening. Groups stacked up and no one seemed to care.
Course conditions left a lot to be desired. The fairways and greens were rock-hard, making it tough to get any kind of spin or proper roll. Not to mention, the golf cart I was given was sticky—like, noticeably grimy to the touch.
To be fair, one issue wasn’t the course’s fault: several groups were loud, shouting across fairways and being generally obnoxious. It’s the kind of thing you sadly come to expect at a bargain course, where etiquette sometimes takes a backseat.
Overall, if you’re just looking to hit balls at a solid driving range, this place is worth a visit. But if you’re expecting a decent round of golf, you’ll probably leave more frustrated than fulfilled.
