Unfair Pin Positions on at least 5 holes
Chalet is a wonderful track....way too difficult for high handicapper...unless you're a solid 10 hcp or less you have no business playing anything but the whlte tees which are a 131 slope. Always keeps your interest. Was lucky to find a day where I could play through one foursome and get around in a leisurely 310....when crowded this course is a 6 hour death march as you wait and wait due to numerous water hazards. Sand traps were fair to poor at best (managed to miss them all).....greens were very decent except lots of brown ball marks and even with the light tee sheet fixed at least 3 fresh obvious ones on each green plus my own. Where's the windmill? It's at Chalet Hills this week - 5 holes where the cups were cut in unfair positions.....how could you have a 3 foot uphill par putt between two old cup positions that breaks slighltly left go four inches past the hole on the pro-side...stop,,,wobble and then start rolling back ending up six feet behind you....yes a complete stop....wiggle and then complete u-turn around the back of the hole never touching it. Above the hole twice from 10 feet.....good luck stopping it within 4 or 5 feet and then a couple sidehillers that almost got to the hole...almost stopped.... and then wiggled down slopes to no less than 10 feet. Can't chalk that up to the greens keeper having a bad morning cutting holes when there are that many and my putting skills frankly are pretty decent. The greens are just too fast on the stimp for the slope conditions in many areas of some of these greens. Other than that the course was in better shape than last year...rough was defined and a proper length. Chalet is definitely a track to play a couple times year (only when not crowded) when you can get a rate of $35 or under.....
Fun Round with My Boys!
Had an issue when I checked in...made our tee time on Golf Now, but club had no record of it. Staff was most apologetic and still got us out on time. Starter, pro shop, and snack bar staff were delightful. Brat at the turn was terrific.
Course was in good shape overall. Greens were a bit softbut decent speed. As public courses go, lots of unrepaired ball marks, unrated bunkers and u filled divots. Obviously not staff's fault, but come on people.
Bag drop and cart guys could use better training. Not communicative when unloading clubs and poor job rubbing up clubs at the end.
Forward tees were perfect for my 12 year old son, and beautiful day. We would definitely play again! Thanks!
Thanks for playing Chalet Hills! We are glad that you enjoyed the course. Come back and see us soon!
Fantastic course conditions especially this late in the season
Scenic holes
Great overall design
Challenging
Loved it
True greens as well
Thank you for playing Chalet Hills. We are glad that you enjoyed the course. Come back and see us soon!
Hidden Jem
The key to a good score is to control your tee shot on 5, 12 and 15. Anything off the fairway will end up with a double or worse more than likely.
Thank you for playing Chalet Hills! We are glad that you enjoyed the course. Come see us again soon!
Beautiful Course, Very Tough
Great course, all bent grass. Two island greens on 14 and 17, 18 is a beautiful par 5 around a lake. Everything very good, except group behind us hit into us twice, almost hitting my friend. If you know the group in front of you cannot move forward, BACK OFF
Thank you for playing Chalet Hills! We are sorry that you got hit into by the group behind you, but we are glad that you enjoyed the course. Come back and see us soon!
Slow play
It took me & my son almost 6 hours to finish our round. Never saw a Rangr on the course to speed up pace. The greens were too soft. Players were not repairing ball marks on the green or raking sand traps. Sand traps full or big rocks. NOT pebbles big rocks. Group in front of us was blasting music from their cart while we were trying to tee off. The Starter & cart girl were very friendly. Pretty sad when thats the only good point I can make. Over priced for length of pace and course conditions.
Thank you for your review. We are sorry about some of your concerns that you stated above. If you don't mind, please send an email to chalethillsgolfclub@yahoo.com to further discuss.
Chalett
Play there often. Great rates later in day. Staff very nice. Always in good condition. Excellent greens. Traps need work lots of wash-out.
Thank you for playing Chalet Hills! Sorry about some of the bunkers as the rain has been pretty bad lately. Hope to see you back soon!

Nice course...
Some long holes, challenging short holes, dog legs...nice course , would definitely play this course again...5 stars...!!!
Thank you for playing Chalet Hills! We pride ourselves in our course conditions and are glad that you thought the course was nice. Come back and see us again!
Great golf experience...
I try to get out as much as possible but family and budget often influence where I go.
If you want to get the most "golf experience" for your money Chalet Hills delivers on all counts. Rolling terrain, greens roll true and friendly staff.
There are some holes that require placement shots verses pulling the driver. GPS on the carts could help first timers navigate the course, but for the greens fees we paid, I have absolutely no complaints.
Great experience, beautiful and challenging track.
Thank you for playing Chalet Hills! We are glad that you saw value in our golf course. Come back and see us again!
Great scenery. Greens rolling true
You can't go rolling with this course. Makes you feel like your playing a course in Wisconsin / Maryland. T
Thank you for playing Chalet Hills! We pride ourselves in our course conditions. Please come see us again!
Very nice course for the price.
A Little tight for the high handicap player. We had a great experience. Course was in great shape after experiencing a large amount of rainfall. Only negative we had was the carts could be updated. Old gas carts that struggled to make it up the hills!
Thank you for your review. We are glad that you had a great experience at Chalet Hills! Come back and see us again!
Fantastic shape, well managed, difficult challenge
Course was in fantastic shape, seems well managed, greens were perfect & the course is a very solid challenge for the average golfer.
Thank you for playing Chalet Hills! We are glad you thought the course was in great shape. Please come out and see us again!
Great playing course
I have played over a hundred rounds here since the 80's. Lot's of transformation, mostly for the better, but still miss the old bog holes and pump house. Used to play 36 holes twice a week on this course in cut-offs and t shirts. Now it's dressed up for the privileged and we play it less, but always come back for the memories of all the fun and golf we had here over the last 4 decades. Great course to challenge your ability or your eraser. (You know who you are.) Great spring condition. With a little attention from the grounds crew Chalet Hills can be awesome all summer. Greens are superb, but not many players repair ball marks here. Must be some new tradition. There is no second cut. Just wire brush 4" rough or prehistoric swamp stuff. Stay in the fairway or club up 2 clubs. Avoid the sand at all costs. Traps need the rocks to be removed! Fairways are in very good shape. Probably the best fairways around. Drainage is working well. The staff, starting from the parking lot to the pro shop are friendly and attentive. You have to make plans to play here at least once this year. You won't forget your round at Chalet Hills.
Very tough coarse for the average golfer
lots of water, woods, some tight fairways. not to many gimme's. almost every hole has something to manuver
TC course review
I would come back and play this course multiple times.
A cool day, so there was no one on the course, plus the golfnow fee for two with a cart was a great value.
Completely Disapointed!!!! Big Time!!!!!
I have not played C H in 15 years, before the homes popped up. And then was a gem and in awesome shape. My God this place is a dump. No hole slates, to let you see the hole, or know the distances, I was told they are on order, Believe it when I see it. Sticks and branches on the course every where , Greens had ball divots all over them. Goose droppings on them. Sand traps a watered down mess, hard and not taken care off. For the money they charge, It is so not worth the club house prices. I played on G N and thank god for that. I might come and play next year, maybe. But this course is in such bad shape for the fees being charged. I shot a 38- 38=76 from the white tees. If I have one good thing to say of this course, is the layout is nice, the 9th and 18th going around the lake is cool, and island green 17 is challenging. I was told this course has changed hands several times in last 15 years. Very nice club House. And friendly staff. What a Disapointment!!!!!
This course has a great staff.
The staff were very friendly, and the course was in good shape.
We've deside to come back again for sure and intend to have outting for our group tournament next year.
Every hole is hard like a rock but we like this golf course. Remember bring extra balls a dozen .
Thank you for playing Chalet Hills! Sorry about some of the pin placements. We are glad that you saw the value in our course. Come back and see us again soon!
