Lake Jonesco Golf Course

Course is in very, very poor shape, it is in bad shape

The greens fee was only about $17, but you really do get what you pay for. The layout of the course was actually quite nice. Very hilly, LOTS of elevation change, but holy moly are the conditions bad. There’s hardly much of a “cart path” and what is left of the cart path is awful and extremely uncomfortable to drive one. It would honestly take a 4x4 off-roading vehicle with great suspension to comfortably traverse this course as it is, not a golf cart. I hope the conditions improve drastically because i would love to play this course again if it was actually well kept.

First my very expensive Garmin approach s62 would not ever put me on right hole. Started on #1 watch showed me on #10. The watch never worked. Guess course never uploaded their course data. It started off by welcoming us to that course. There should have been more signs of direction on couple of holes. When you first arrive you park in front of what appears to be club house but doors were locked. No sign directing where to check in. Wondered around til we found tiny little Bolding to check in. Good (hot dogs) terrible plus on ketchup nothing else. Will not ever return.

Not only are the people at Jonesco nice and relaxed but so is the course!

Course has nice potential and benefits from good layout with nice dogleg, blind tee shoots, and places can’t miss and elevation changes.

The greens were horrible like putting on carpet or the fairways. it was like they had not been cut in 2 weeks after 3 days of 3 inches of rain!

You can tell it’s small town country course with limited resources.

Friendly staff. Old carts.

The 2 star was for the condition of the greens, mainly speeds and pace. If the greens were smooth then 4 stars for the price.
