Well maintained, huge course
Course was in amazing shape, fast greens, clean fairways. Cart girl and staff very nice but halfway house was closed, clubhouse too far from turn to grab anything.
Can't Complain
Course was in great shape. Only thing is it was a weekend so was kind of busy and pace was a bit slow. But other than that, would definitely go back and play again.
Packed
Course was in good shape, but may have been overbooked. Four hours got me to the 14th hole
Turn Around Compared to Years Past
I was pleasantly surprised with the conditions of this course. Played the gold course about 5 years ago before this past Saturday, and I was disappointed with the conditions back then as for the reason it's been a while since I've decided to play there.
After getting out there again it seems as if the management care more about the conditions of the course, there wasn't many dandelions all around, or crabgrass patches really anywhere. Greens were receptive and rolled pretty true. Fairways were cut nicely. There was moderate sand in the bunkers and minimal geese poop too. Years past there were tons of geese and that was an annoyance.
Pace of ply
Pace of play was almost as bad as Cinder Ridge. If your local you know how rough that is!! I golf Green Gardens a lot, I am hoping this doesn’t become the norm.
Nice Course, Excellent Shape
The greens and fairways were in excellent shape. Pace of play was good. The course is tougher than it appears. Especially the par 5s. It was pretty windy out so it made the course even more challenging. Would definitely play it again. Only complaint is the cart paths: Lots of potholes and tree roots growing underneath. Make sure your drink has a cover on it!
Great course
Was surprised that some changes were made at the course. The gold course 1st hole has been switched to the Emerald 1st tee, and the Emerald tee was switched to the Gold 1st tee. Other than that, the rest is the same. Pace of play was good, and the course was in good shape.
Beware
BEWARE!!! Place is a money grab!!! Green Garden has been my home course for multiple years. Staff was always decent but it has fallen off the edge. First, I must say that the high school cart kids and starters are the nicest people in the world but the ownership and driving range attendants are awful. Was at the chipping green before a tee time and was kicked off because I was “abusing the course” for not buying a small bucket of balls. I was already paying for a tee time so they are just trying to get me to buy more so I can use the “free” chipping green and putting green. People inside are not friendly at all and seem like they think the world is against them. Truly feel sorry for them. Tee times are overpriced and cart path is a mess. Potholes galore. Oh also. They love to cancel tee times booked online so make sure you check your emails for random cancellations :) I recommend spending your well earned money at Sanctuary, Cog Hill, Prairie Bluff or Heritage Bluffs
Great day of golfing
Played the Gold course. Staff was fun and friendly. Course was in good shape. Greens we’re fast. Pace was good until some clowns probably got mixed up and appeared in front of us on the back nine and were really slow. It was just two of them and our foursome was all up on them for several holes Luckily they found their way back to the course they were supposed to be on so our pace picked back up. Otherwise it was a great day for golf.
Good course only one complaint.
Good course for the average golfer. Carts were by far the most comfortable I've ever driven. Seats are black which could be hot in the dead of the summer but no problem now. Only complaint was no cart person and no one at the house for food and drink after the 9th hole.
A nicely designed Course
But for the very strong chilly winds that nearly stopped me from playing, I really enjoyed this round of Golf.
The course is well designed and the directions to each hole are clearly marked. The tee boxes are in good condition and so are the greens: just remember, that they run, so don't putt too hard.
The Golf cart paths are not so great in a few places; but you could by-pass the pot-holes by riding on the grass around the pot-holes.
I would really love to play here again if possible and perhaps bring my Golf mate (Theo from London, U.K.) to play too.
COURSE AND STAFF
Staff and Course keep getting better and better
