Where’s the ball washers
Green Garden has always been top notch. Not sure why there are no ball washers this year and the bunker sand is hard as in clay hard. Clubhouse restaurant under remodeling during the golf season is a weird time to do that as well.
Course was good but no water and poor beverage service took away from the experience.
Course was in good shape despite the very dry early summer we're having. Fairways were well-kept but dry and firm. Greens were fast and fun. Greenside bunker sand was good.
As for pace of play, it would have been ideal for rangers to keep an eye on the slower groups, but this was not a deal-breaker. It was a busy weekend.
The only complaint I have is the lack of on-course water, ball washers, and beverage service. We never saw the beverage cart after the 5th hole so it was tough going on the back nine especially. The 5th hole service was good, however, very friendly.
Small gripe, I know, but it was rough finishing the round with no drinking water available (even vending machines were out). If you're going to play here, I'd suggest brining a LARGE water jug. If you're drinking, purchase it from the bar before you go out and bring a cooler if they'll let you because you may not see the beverage cart for a LONG time.
Other than that, it was a good time.
Nice course, BUT
It's a nice course with two negatives.
#1 - There are at least 3 very long par 4s, 428, 441, 460 from the white tees. Probably too tough for those who can't drive it at least 250.
#2 - This course is no longer in the USGA data base, so if you ware tracking your handicap, this round technically wouldn't count.
Fun Round
Very friendly staff, course condition, and layout. I went back the following weekend and had another very enjoyable round. I can’t say enough about the great staff here, from the desk to the ranger and beer cart (which came around often) couldn’t ask for anything else from a course in this price range
