University Park Golf Club
About
University Park Golf Club (formerly known as University Golf Club & Conference Center) boasts one of the most popular championship courses in the Chicagoland area. The golf course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1962. The original design by Lawrence Packard received an update in 2004 by Greg Martin, but the classic character of the layout still remains. The course wanders across gentle rolling terrain, providing elevated tees and undulating fairways. Water hazards come into play on half the holes, including on the 17th, University Park Golf Club's signature hole. This intimidating par 3 requires a tough carry over water to an elevated green. Miss it and you'll be faced with the nearly impossible task of getting up and down. The difficulty doesn't let up with the final hole, an uphill dogleg par 4 with a sloped, elevated green and water on the right.

Solid Track
University Park is a solid course, decently challenging but very playable for all skill levels great staff and cart girl. Adding to my Chicago regular list
Back nine was being aerated today. Don’t know when they’ll be doing the front nine.
Good time and the course is getting back to its glory days
Second time playing this year, cool track and good shape.
UP Village
The University Park Golf Course was built in the 60's. I moved here in 2004. New Clubhouse. Layout is nice, course shape was okay. It got better with new management. By 2016 UP village was near BK (crooked politicians)! Never opened. Town hall meetings for them to lease Course were ignored. Finally Sept. 4th open! Billy Casper Foundation is now management. Did a great job. Crooked politicians sold the lease to a lesser buyer. BAD. Seems they stole all equipment. This New guy Dave Vay? EXCELLENCE!!!
Terrible Course Management and Operation
10:30 am tee time on Saturday. Starter was fantastic, but proshop was incompetent. Whoever was doing checkins was telling everyone that morning how he let a group of 24 go out on 3 booked tee times. The course has times every 10 minutes. 8 players every 10 minutes for half an hour. Then they ran out of carts and it jammed up pace even more. Finished the round in close to 5.5 hours. “Ranger” showed up to ask about pace on the 14th hole and didn’t do anything as the group ahead of us reshot each of their shots on every hole
Much improvement from previous years. Still need to work on tee boxes and greens a lot of crabgrass growing in those areas. And my fellow golfers please repair your ball marks pn the greens.
Hidden Gem
For the price you pay on this course, it rivals other south side courses famous for their higher price point, such as Silver Lake, and George Dunne. While it is open , and appears easier on paper, the high winds due to the location can give you a lot of replay value here. I’d certainly recommend this course
its back
course is definitely back to what is was a few years ago. Great pace of play, really good conditions. Only complaint is the greens were rock hard. Throw some water on them and it would be a perfect day.
Good Shape, Good Value
The course was in very good shape. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good value for the money.
