About
University Park Golf Club (formerly known as University Golf Club & Conference Center) boasts one of the most popular championship courses in the Chicagoland area. The golf course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1962. The original design by Lawrence Packard received an update in 2004 by Greg Martin, but the classic character of the layout still remains. The course wanders across gentle rolling terrain, providing elevated tees and undulating fairways. Water hazards come into play on half the holes, including on the 17th, University Park Golf Club's signature hole. This intimidating par 3 requires a tough carry over water to an elevated green. Miss it and you'll be faced with the nearly impossible task of getting up and down. The difficulty doesn't let up with the final hole, an uphill dogleg par 4 with a sloped, elevated green and water on the right.

Course in good shape seemed was overbooked had 3 groups on every hole one on green one on fairway one on tee

They have done a fantastic job of revamping this course from what it was. It's a great value and the staff are super friendly.
Good value course
This is a good value option. They have greatly improved this course over the past few years. Well maintained, solid layout, would play again. Either has amazing pace of play or very slow no in between. I’ve had 3h rounds and 6h rounds here. Overall solid course.
Somehow crazy slow...no leagues, no outings, just slow
5 hour round on a Tuesday at 10am tee time. At one point, we had 6 groups of golfers (4 somes) on two holes of golf! Ohh, the front of these 6 groups...had 3 holes wide open in front of them. :(
Waste of time
Drove an hour outside of the city for what was supposed to be a nice round for my cousins birthday. It took 3 hours to play 9 holes. The starter just was not doing his job, there was no ranger to help increase pace of play. The pair we were playing with got hit literally 3 times by other players. We sat on tee boxes waiting for a very long time on almost every single hole. It took 6 hours and we only finished 13 holes…terrible experience.
Do not come here
I’ll start off by saying we couldn’t even finish the round. The pace was sooo bad it took us 3 hours to finish 9 holes. We sat on almost every tee box for 20+ minutes. For a hour outside of the city it is not worth the drive. Very, very disappointed in the starter, there was no marshal at least trying to improve the pace of play…just awful.
Great greens!
Pleasantly surprised. Didn't know what to expect but good challenge and marble smooth greens. Great value.
