Horrible
I've enjoyed the group of golfers at this course, but recently I've had several encounters with non-golfers who don’t seem to understand how a driving range operates. Instead of moving to an open stall or waiting behind a golfer who's nearly finished, they’ve been standing at the door as if waiting for an amusement park ride. Normally, when a stall opens, you simply step in, but today, when I went to take an open spot, I was told by one individual that I had to wait in line by the door like everyone else. lol. I tried to explain to him how it works, but he became belligerent, swearing and causing a scene and then he threatened me. I reported the situation to the pro/manager, and though he fully agreed with me all that he did was look at the range and chose to do nothing. Unfortunately, this reflects a real decline in the overall experience and atmosphere at this course.
For a better and safer driving range experience, I recommend Cog Hill, Green Garden, or Prairie Bluff - where the facilities and golf culture are much more professional— and Praiirie Bluff has better mats, Titleist range balls that feel amazing, and all of these ranges have a more serious golf-culture where the game is better understood.
For reference, I am a low single-digit handicap golfer with nearly 20 years prior expeirence in the golf industry and a daughter playing Division 1 golf, I’m deeply disappointed and could not recommend this range at all. We've spent a significant amount here over the past five years, but we no longer feel safe or valued. We won’t be returning.
Worth a play every season
I had to look up when I last played Sanctuary - and was shocked my most recent review was over 7 years ago (5/7/14). Well maintained golf course operations with full driving range. Decent value for seniors during the week. Clubhouse is okay...but the orange whip selections are pretty "light" no local micro brews in cans are stocked. Friendly folks work here - everyone we interacted with were excellent...beverage cart was out roaming during the week as well.
Why did I wait so long to return? Course has aged gracefully. Several pins were tucked in fact sucker tucked.. best bet is to just aim for the middle of some of these greens - some can be very small targets. Blue tees at 6342 can be bit too much for most golfers especially Par 5's that have forced carry tee boxes. Play the whites at 5786 and you'll still have fun and plenty of challenge. They should consider putting together a white/blue combo to play at around 6000 or 6100.
I "forgot" what a fun experience it is to play Sanctuary. We teed off shortly after 11am and pace of play was decent. Don't play here late twilight - the Par 5 17th plays directly into a setting sun - 17 is a poorly designed overtrapped water fest with no really good landing area for your 2nd shot. Recommend and will definitely return within the next year....4.1 stars, $40 - $45 value.
Fun Links course that will test your game
I visit this course a few times a year and it is always in great shape.
The day I played was pretty windy about 25 MPH so you had to think your way around the course . It is always in good shape with nice greens. You have room to miss your drive on this course but Water is in play on a few holes. The staff is always very nice I arrived early and he let me go many courses put you down when they see the golf now booking because the know you got a deal but here they are nice to everyone
First timer
Got to the clubhouse about 15 minutes before my tee time and they said we are running alittle behind because of frost. I had no problem with that and starting talking to the man behind the counter. I wish I would have gotten his name because he listened to all of my bs. Lol. Very friendly staff inside and outside. Course is very fair and is in great shape. I traveled 1 hour and would do it again.
Book it!
Course has been in great shape all year(3rounds) But the staff in all departments is just as good of a reason to book a round here! Always professional, accommodating, and friendly will keep it a must play! Keep up the great service!

Great track with good conditions. True greens but traps need more sand. Overall a gem for the cost! Play it
Solid course
Guy at the counter was extremely rude. Another guy in the office was good. Course layout plays well for intermediate as well as seasoned players. Greens are pristine. Some drainage issues on a few holes, but didn't really get in the way. Will plan to return.
