Weekday solo round
I was traveling from Birmingham, AL to Orlando, FL down I75-S for work and was coming up on Valdosta, GA and had time for a summer evening 18 holes. I had a buddy from the area so I asked his recommendation and he referred me to Stone Creek, he said he thought they had recently done some work on the course and that it should be in pretty decent shape, turns out he was right. From what I can remember the course works its way through a large residential community and is conveniently located right off the interstate. This was a pretty straight forward layout that still presented enough challenges to keep you focused. The greens were rolling pure and the fairways were fine as well. If I remember correctly I think the courses scenery became more involved on the back 9 with more water hazards, etc. which really made for some nice views down the stretch. I think I paid $43 or the round, and overall I was very pleased based on some of the places I've gotten myself into going in blind. Hopefully I'll have time to play again next time I'm in the area.
