Hawaii Prince Golf Club - A/B Nines
About
Located on the west side of the island of Oahu, Hawaii Prince Golf Club is situated on what was once prime sugar cane land. Now the land provides 27 holes of challenging golf with panoramic views of the Waianae Mountain Range. There are three nines that can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. A/B is the least difficult of the combinations but there is still plenty of character and variety throughout the golf course. Water hazards come into play on nine holes and there are sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. Although it is considered the least challenging, the A/B features one of the most difficult of all the holes at the club, the last hole on the B course. It is a par 4 with water to the left, front, and right of the tee and it usually plays into the trade winds.

Staff is great
Cart had problems with gps
Great course easy and fun
A great course to play this time pace of play was much better than last time had a wonderful game very enjoyable and the course was in splendid shape!
Excellent test from blue and red tees
Really enjoyed the course, and the greens condition was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. Only downer for us was the restaurant and bar were closed when we finished at 4.45pm. This may have been a regular Monday thing or staffing issue. Would play there again for sure. Must enjoy seeing and hearing aircraft though.
Well Maintained But Uninspiring
This is a well maintained course but very flat. Generous fairways, nice greens (moderate speed at 6-7 stimp meter). The layout was uninspiring because of the flatness.
There was a 5-some ahead of 3 groups of 2-somes including my 2-some. So there was quite a bit of wait on every leg of each hole. It didn't help that the 5-some were always out of the fairway looking for balls.
Flat, nice residential course
If you’re looking for a challenging course, this isn’t it. But if you’re like me and hadn’t had a chance to play much before getting to Hawaii then it’s really a good time. It’s well maintained, staff got people on and kept pace moving quickly.
Downside: and this is a huge caveat because it was my mistake, not the course’s. Being a first timer, by a cursory glance at Google Maps I thought this course was located next to the ocean. It’s not, but rather next to a piece of property that is itself connected to the ocean. So there are no stunning views unless you’re a real estate agent, because the whole course is locked in a residential neighborhood.
Again, not the course’s fault, there was no deception, I just didn’t pay close enough attention. For a similar price I could have played a mountain course but at the end of the day, it was a nice course with friendly, helpful staff and the three 9s they have allow them to move pace of play quickly so you’re never standing more than 5 min waiting on the people in front of you to hit.
I’d play again for sure if I also had a chance to play a more scenic course during my visit. One positive is this course is flat as my home state and very walkable, which after a week of tourist food was welcome.
Nice course
3 nine hole courses, A-B-C, Would recommend A and C. Course was in great shape and staff was super friendly. Had a 5 some in front of me, was able to finally play through. On A had a single in front of me “practicing” and hitting off the reds. Was really difficult to play through him, he had a hard time finding his ball. Might have just been my bad luck to have him in front of me. Overall, don’t let that scare you away from this course, it was fun to play.
