Enjoyed playing this course. Some of the fairways were somewhat sparse but did not detract from enjoying the course.
Great staff---friendly reception and accommodating starter. Overall...excellent. will play again. Good value.

Lots of uphill and downhill shots hard to judge distances especially with rental clubs, which were TM Rocketballz and were in great shape and played well. Had a lot of fun lots of peacocks to see and some amazing views! Pace of play got a little slow but the Marshall noticed and got on the group to pick up the pace which was nice!

We had a wonderful experience on this course. It is a beutiful course, that was a great value in Hawaii.

While there are spectacular views and some awesome holes this course often penalizes good shots due to generally poor fairway conditions. There are areas of hard and sparsely turfed fairways that do not stop a well struck ball from rolling into to trouble or worse. There is not enough rough before you reach unplayable ground. On a positive note the greens and tees were in very good condition generally.

Course on side of mountain. Front 9 uphill and Back 9 coming back down. Very scenic setting in the country with peacocks everywhere. Course, facilities and equipment (carts) well maintained.

Great course, well maintained, beautiful settings with the wildlife abound. Wonderful staff. Have a jacket in bag as it does get cool sometimes at the higher elevation.

This is Hawaii, for goodness sake. A value at twice the price.

We watched the weather carefully, as this course is in an area that can be wet, but we were blessed with a beautiful day. Every hole at Makalei has it's own unique personality, with plenty of challenges. This is a shot-makers course and scoring will be difficult, but even if you shoot a high score, the views, peacocks, and unique features (lava tubes!), make it worth the effort. I've payed a lot more money for a lot less golf course.

This is a nice course to play for the rates. It is in the mountains and has some great views. Staff was super nice. There are peacocks everywhere- they will come right up to the cart.

No houses to see, peacocks aplenty and a very mountainous track. Great course and real test to hit it straight. NO way you would ever attempt to walk it without a paramedic on standby. Keep it in the short stuff and you'll score. Let it drift and pray.

All of my expectations were exceeded. Did not know that this great of a course could exist in this area - beautiful views, very nice layout, fair and challenging. I look forward to playing again on my next trip to the area.

We enjoyed playing every hole, even driving from hole to hole , the sights were amazing.The Peacocks come right up to your card... but do not affecft your golf play at all. The Marshall is fun to chat with!

The course was in good condition for the money. Wheather was good in Oct.

This course is carved right out of the jungle. Excellent, soft greens. Beautiful setting. Tough uphill, sometimes downhill, course.

The course is located in the hills above the airport in Kona and provides a refreshing change from the resort courses. The greens are bent grass and the balls roll very well.

The view from Makalei is magnificient. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. Playing at this course is well worth the drive.

Opening three or four holes tough but fair due to extreme elevation changes, but fun if you play it smart first time through. Peacocks and goats on course very cool. Staff very laid back and friendly but still professional - very nice feel to entire experince.
