Kona Country Club

Kona was in great shape and the threatening rain held off for our round. Course was in very good shape. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Couple of weird points: Drink cart driver needed to keep our credit card since she didn't have a card reader. Really? Then when we finished our round, our card was not available for pick up in the club restaurant (the wait wasn't too long though). Is this just a ploy to get golfers into the restaurant/bar? Finally, there was no quick food option in the restaurant for golfers making the turn. At least not one we noticed. Minor points that I hope the management reads but that should not discourage golfers from playing this fine course.

They allowed a fivesome to play a head of us. No Marshall. Very very slow play. Great views, challenging fairways, decent greens even though they had recently been sanded.

Beautiful day for golf. Course conditions were good with the greens being in excellent shape. Fairways had some worn conditions. Bunkers were good with nice fluffy sand. Overall pace of play was good given the high volume of play. If you come to Kona and want to play golf the Kona Golf & Country club is an excellent option.

Kona is always on the courses when we are on the Big Island, close to Kona and always in good shape.

Hot deal so price was right. Noon tee times are a bit slower. Course has great layout and course was in good shape. Greens are tricky and everything breaks to the ocean. Recommend it if in Kona area.

Our tee time was 11 am, but as we finished up the front nine, at shortly after 12 noon,we were advised the club had booked a group outing , which were using both the first and tenth tees, so we were not allowed to finish the 18 hole round we booked., and they would"try" to get us a credit back from Golf Now., but could not guarantee it. Since we were leaving to return home the next day, we could not accept a 9 hole round the following day.

Aside from the club permitting overlooking, the tee times, the course is great.

I enjoyed the golf so much, but the value was hard to explain. My rentals cost 65 usd, that’s what a round of golf at a nice course costs where I live (not a cheap city to live or play) then I asked for stiff clubs, they gave me stiff irons and regular woods, so I played well with my irons and couldn’t hit my woods at all. Ruined my game and experience. Next year I’m gonna make sure to bring my own clubs and probably find a new course to play from now on.

Beautiful course, and very friendly staff..Very difficult greens to read, but very enjoyable round of golf.

Whenever we are on the Big Island we enjoy playing Kona CC. The course is fun and the people are friendly

Love the course!.. Love the staff! Love the restaurant!! What a great golfing experience! ..until the next time!
