Bay View Golf Course

Coming from the east coast I did not expect these HI condition. Grass is different. But I would return if I had a chance.

The biggest issue I had with this course was they made my rider pay a full fee as if they were playing a full round but all they were doing was just riding with me. They Do not do spectator fees you have to pay the full round as if you were playing even if you are just riding along, Wish I knew that before I would not have drove across the island to come here. Course was really muddy. They do not have bathrooms on any holes. There are signs posted up saying no outside beverages allowed but there’s no cart girl riding around or water coolers with water (all empty). Even the ball washer had no water. Aside from all that it was an OK fun part three course. And make sure to pick up your ID and credit card before you leave yeah I know that was another first there.

The course show much improvement over the last couple of years. The only minor complaint I have is pace of play. They are letting 6 people play in a group and that really slows the course down for everyone behind them. They have a new manager and he said pace of play was one concern he is looking into.

The owner is doing a great job improving course conditions. Now they just need to follow some basic golf course procedures to keep pace of play reasonable. They should never allow six players in a group and make sure every player has a set of clubs. There was a group of five in front of us that had two bags of clubs. With a marshal/starter in place you could allow more tee times and make money renting clubs.

Most of the holes are par 3 but challenging. The back 9 is more challenging than the front 9. Good chance to work on your short game.

They have made a new rule. You can’t get a golf cart until 15 minutes before your tee time. So if you want to load up and go to the driving range, it won’t happen. They have also gone up on range balls. A small basket is $10, a little pricey even for the island. They have launch monitors at the range but no longer come with the purchase of range balls. If you want to use the monitor it’s another $5.

BayView is getting better and better. When my wife and I started golfing, at BayView, a few years ago, they were doing a lot of work on the course. It has paid off. The greens are better, the fairways are better, the tee boxes are tee boxes. My wife loves it because it’s shorter, she is only good for 9 at a 6-7k yard course, but BayView is just rite. It has helped me with my short game, that helps when I play longer courses with my boys. Keep up the good work guys.

The course is about 40 min from Waikiki and not worth the Uber back and forth. It’s deserted upstairs and you have to walk down stairs with your clubs to get to starting window. The front side completely different from back and no one told us hole 5 was closed. It’s a dog track. Only 1 or 2 views of “industrial” bay. Back side lot of foliage so be prepared to lose balls. The kicker was they took my license and credit card (instead of just taking an imprint or picture) and at the end of 3 hrs and organizing rental clubs and car back to hotel I forgot to get my cards back. Had to send an Uber to retrieve cards that cost another $50. We were leaving next day so imperative to get ID back or not get on plane. This course is one to skip unless desperate to play. Sorry

The course took my license and credit card to hold at the small shack for check in and to insure the cart. At the end of a 3 hr round and dealing with Uber car to get back to Waikiki and rental clubs I forgot to retrieve my card and ID. It is was across the island and I had to hire a driver to go and pick up or I would not get on our flight the next day. They need to just make an imprint of your credit card in the event there is damage to the card not keep them. It cost me an additional $40 to pay an Uber to pick up my cards and return. Also they did not tell us hole 5 was closed so we only played 17. The staff did call me regarding the cards I left which was nice but the course is 30-45 mins from Waikiki and it is executive course which spas not specified. You owe me Golf Now!

Overall this is a fun course. The greens were in excellent shape The course is well maintained. Some of the views were beautiful and overall the setting ians the layout is well done. We enjoyed it
