Maui Nui Golf Club

Canadian golfer that loves playing Maui golf courses was honestly shocked how poor of a condition Maui Nui was. For some unknown reason, no hole signs, the front 9 was a complete mess with trees everywhere. Bunkers had 2 different soil types, some with sand and some with grinded up lava rock...very weird. Sod farm in front of the par 3 17th hole????? Even the golf cart GPS was out of sink without any golf hole signs...really!

Do not play this course, total waste of money. Pukalani golf course (see my review) was in 10 times the shape at half the cost. Aloha.

We played mid week and mid day, and had a log jam on the 2nd hole with 5-6 groups on the hole. Pace of Play was very slow at about 5 hours. Other than that, the course was nice and fun to play, and a good value for Hawaii.

Fun course. Not overwhelming hard for average players.

People were so nice and friendly

Serviceable course. Fairways in generally good condition; greens variable. Super windy - gusts of 30 mph, which the staff said are typical - "it's Kihei". Inexpensive by Maui standards, but you get what you pay or don't pay for.

A very nice course - Challenging without being punishing for a mid-handicapper. Beautiful views. Excellent value for the money and we will play it again. Had a nice happy hour cocktail (prepared by our lovely server Courtney) and coconut shrimp in the restaurant after the round.

The greens on the front nine were rough, full of divots, and not great to say the least. There were no restrooms on the back and we never saw a beverage cart. However, the greens on the back were much nicer. It’s worth playing if you get a deal on your green fees but I wouldn’t pay full price.

It’s unfortunate that they aren’t putting any money into keeping the course nice. It use to be a good course to play but it has really went down hill. Not coming back.

We were unable to finish our round because of slow play ahead of us. We paid for 18 but only competed 13 holes before the 6:00 cart return deadline. Should not give a 2:15 tee time,

I’ve played this course many times over the years and every time conditions are a little bit worse than the year before. A much higher level of maintenance and investment is needed to put this course back in satisfactory condition and on its way back to its potential.

Fun course to play with a few challenging holes to make it quite interesting. Had a great time with my teenage son here who played for $5 as he is a youth on course member. Very friendly staff and great amenities. Some of the greens needed work but overall the course is in a good shape. We played twice early in the morning and were done in about 4 hours.
