Pukalani Country Club
About
Pukalani Country Club has a unique location at the 1,100-foot elevation of the famous Mount Haleakala, an extinct volcano whose name means “House of the Rising Sun.” The dramatic elevation offers breathtaking views that span the West Maui Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. The golf course features wide, undulating fairways and fast, sloped greens. The gently rolling terrain can cause some tricky uneven lies. There are trees and well placed bunkers scattered throughout to provide further challenge. Pukalani Country Club has a unique feature on the par-3 third hole. The hole gives golfers the options of hitting to one of two very different greens, one which requires a tee shot over a tree-filled gully and another that requires a shot beyond a cliff to a pal tree-lined green.

Glad it’s open
With all the rain it’s nice the course is open and I appreciate the effort of the groundskeeper but the course is in need of a lot of cleanup and grass cutting.
Pukalani First Timer
We played Pukalani in the middle of the two Kona storms, once Wednesday and again on Friday. Was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the course and the conditions considering the storms that had just gone by that had closed most of the courses on the island.
The course is beautifully lined with lots of Norfolk Pines, which did not take the same damage as some of the other trees on other courses, the fairways were in reasonably good condition, but the greens were in excellent shape and rolled very nicely. Lots of elevation changes, so have to club up or down depending what your direction is. Wednesday played with a little to no wind, and gave you a good sense of how the course played, but Friday after the first hole the winds picked up and we’re 2 to 3 clubs different every shot. Love playing Maui courses when it’s windy, rewards you when you hit a good shot, but will penalize you if you hit the wrong fade or draw at the wrong time. Still a very enjoyable round of golf, will be back again next time I visit Maui.
Post Kona Low
Course is in overall average condition, not considering the wind damage to the course from the storms. They is a lot of clean up to do on the course but I will not downgrade the rating because of that just happy they are ok and open.
Pace
Was a nice pace for a change, no waiting on every hole.
Maui golf ⛳️ day
We treated ourselves to a round in Pukalani.
Have played it before, a great track. Greens were awesome, staff great and friendly, great deal on green fees . A must play
Great Maui golf course. Best deal on the island!
Pukalani Golf course is a gem of a find. The beat value on the island by far. It is in great condition, decent challenge and great views.
Good Course
Very nice course and user friendly. Pace of play was 4:45 so quite slow - very slow group in front of us but we were not in a hurry. Course conditions were good - especially the greens. Friendly staff. Great value especially compared to the ridiculous prices of the fancy resort courses.
Slow Pace
Wish the Marshall would Marshall and not just apologize for slow play. Back in the day slow play was rewarded with Marshall picking up players balls and meeting them on the next tee…it can be done pleasantly
Great up country course
Greens are in great shape and fast- fairways in good condition. Had some casual water in the bunkers with all the rain. Well worth the drive and money..
Great local gem
Great local course with friendly staff. Only downside is the bunkers and leftover water that hasn’t drained but you just have to avoid them.
Slow play
It was painfully slow, even skipped a hole to get ahead of two groups but caught up with another group very quickly. We were a group of four, group of two in front, n group of four in front of them. The marshall there does nithing.
Enjoy playing this course, reasonable price for Maui.
A little pricey for a just ok public course
It was a pretty windy day everywhere but moreso up the hills at pukelani.
Pace was good on front but a group stopped for extended period at turn to get food (we were told) and crawled home. Ranger didn't talk to them until 15....too late and didn't help.
The clubhouse and restaurant are trailers. They do a good job but not an upscale feel at all.
Rough is uneven Most greens were good and pretty fast. But they were hard to hold on approached as well....
Good track and I am glad I tried it, but won't be on my list when I return. If $60-$80, might be worth another try but not at over $100.
