Kahili Golf Course
About
Kahili Golf Course is positioned on the slopes of the West Maui Mountains, offering picturesque views of the regal Haleakala and the Pacific Ocean.
The world-class layout is a popular stop for visiting and local, amateur and tournament golfers alike. The par-72, 6,554-yard course, constructed in 1991, was designed by Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright.
Elevation changes are the norm at Kahili, with par 3s on the back side laying up and downhill to small greens. A lake and a dry creek bed are in play on the front side, making accuracy a necessity. And the par 5s are short enough to give long hitters a chance at birdies and eagles.
Kahili features beautiful practice facilities with a driving range and putting and chipping greens. Golfers can relax after a round at Kahili Restaurant, which offers good food at value prices. Also, for golfers with larger party needs, the Nahele Banquet Room is the ideal location for weddings, reunions, business meetings and seminars.

A great day of golf
We had a great day of golf. However, in 2 times playing there, both times I put in my email address to send our scores to our email. BOTH times - nothing! If you don't intend to send the scores, please remove that screen from the cart screen. It's frustrating to go to the trouble of entering our email addresses - for nothing. Also, all the advertisements between holes are a little excessive. My suggestion - tone it down.
Surprised
Clubhouse did not credit the golfnow fees. They stated that they never do that.
Great course
Everything was perfect. We booked four players with no golfing gear not even a ball. When we checked in they supplied us with four sets of like new Callaway clubs plus a box new balls. GPS electric golf carts, perfect.
kahili
Good track, greens could be in better condition though, would play again on a hot deal
Bumpy greens
Interesting, challenging hillside layout. Some nice views, lots of blind shots. Greens were horrible, sandy, uneven, not true., recently aerated. No ball washers or drinking water on the course. If the greens were better I'd recommend this course.
What an Excellent Courser
I played this course 2 years ago and just played it again. One of the best settigns on Maui. It's a great course considering the cost vs the more expensive courses along the coast. Highly recommend the early times so you can enjoy the sun rising over the mountains and the majestic water views.
If you can play one course in Maui, pay this one...
Great Staff
Got to love the folks over at Kahili.
Some of the greens were in need of some help but overall, conditions were good.
Looking for a Maui golf challenge
Can get a lot of local business. Green fees are reasonable for visitors. Some really nice views once you hit the back side. Course is challenging due to elevation changes. Greens are usually in good shape and fast. Wind is a big factor on this course. Rain in the afternoons can hamper that perfect round. Bring your pullover!
Nice course for the money.
Not a bad course for public play. However, they had two temporary tee boxes. The greens were nice but very slow. The fairways were generous. A few holes you do not need a driver. The GPS system was helpful. I would like to play it again.
Challenging Course with Friendly Staff
Played here about 3 years ago and was treated very poorly as though they didn't want my business or to even be speaking to them. I liked the course but was truly offended by the insolence and arrogance of the staff.
After a change in management my wife and I decided to give it another chance. What a wonderful experience starting from the first reception in the pro shop to the starter to the cold towel at the end. I would now wholeheartedly endorse playing here.
As a course, it can be challenging with lots of tough hitting areas but still very fair. Not for a beginner but average golfers will definitely enjoy. Low handicappers will love "the tips" and higher handicappers have very fair other tees (white, red, gold).
Only slight downside is it is quite warm when the winds stop but that is typical of other courses in the area.
Great views
Fun layout. Plenty of driving room. Wind makes club selection a challenge. Reading slope on greens is also a challenge. No marshall to control pace of play, but carts warn you if you fall behind. No beverage cart. Overall excellent value for Maui.
Nice course
A bit challenging the first time. Local knowledge is a good thing
Great Maui Option
Had an enjoyable round with my son. Wind conditions make course challenging so we were about 6-10 shots higher than normal, but overall the course layout is fair. Staff was highly professional and helpful. Food was great and affordable. If you have never played this course, you should.
Challenging Course; Great Value
Despite some difficult wind conditions at times, I thoroughly enjoyed this course. I'm a 6 handicap, and from the blues this course was a very good challenge but not unfair at all. The course was in overall very good condition and has a nice variety of holes and elevations. Rough was difficult at times, but the fairways were mostly generous. Great views of Haleakala. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to playing this course at least once more (hopefully even more) on this trip.
A day in the wind
It was a windy day at Kahili, but I was lucky to be paired with Steve, who had played the course many times. I don't normaly like playing in the wind, because i hit a high ball and it can get knocked down in a head wind. Steve helped me maneuver the course and the wind didn't affect me that much. Our foursome had a good time and the greens were pretty tough to read and putt on. I would really like to play this course again, someday. I recommend others to try it. Staff was helpful and professional as well as courteous.
amazing views on a lovely course
Kahili was a great maui golf experience. the course was really well kept and the staff were really helpful making the round 1 to remember. would definately play here again
Good Times
Love playing Kahili- Short course for me means lower score-
Local gem
Fun course w/ plenty of challenges.
Windy conditions w/ great views of Haleakala & ocean harbor.
Very nice course layout on hillside!
4 hr round.
Nice course
For the price it was a good place to golf. It was very windy and was a challenge. From what we were told it is windy most of the time. I would golf here again.
Beautiful views
Course in not great shape. Staff was very friendly.
