Fun in Northbrook
This was my first time at Heritage Oaks (IL) Legacy 9. The course was in great shape. I found it challenging enough for a high handicapper who has dreams of playing much better--like myself. The greens were firm and fair. I wish my foursome had played faster but that's what happens when you're hitting the ball all over the place. One compliment I'll bet you don't get very often is my appreciation for the native plants surrounding the course. Rudbeckia, bergamot, Joe Pye Weed, and other pollinator-attracting plants are absolutely necessary to keep our planet healthy. My congratulations to the groundskeeper or whoever is responsible for those plants. Add more!

Golf with family
I played the Legacy 9 hole course with family. This was the first time I played this course since it reopened as Heritage Oaks. I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed playing the course with the exception of the standing water due to an overnight storm. Other than that, I would definitely recommend. The course is wide open.

Ranger needed… and please groom the sand traps!
I understand beginners will flock to a nine hole course, but the lack of a ranger on this course often means play is painfully slow. A ranger is needed to help TEACH new players about ready golf, making the experience better for everyone.
And the grounds crew desperately needs to work on the sand traps. For the amount of money the Northbrook Park District poured into this course a couple of years ago — mostly into the lackluster clubhouse — the sand shouldn’t be hard pan. Please get the guys out there working on it.

Layout is beautiful, great condition, scorable while still sone challenges. Did i say often can be a quick round in the morning. I play 10x a year!

Short Round
We played 9 holes this time. The pace was a little slow but that’s because it was really busy. Lots of players on the course. However the course was n excellent condition and the staff was awesome. The wrong was very enjoyable.

Both times I played it pace was great
There was only one bad cop on the golf course, and that was because the wind kicked up in a front came through but overall praying for true fairways cut decently. Rough was not too bad

A feature that nobody offers!!!
I was amazed what this course offered this time. I have in my 40 years of golfing I have never seen it before and that is a helping an handicapped person by taking his clubs out of the car and putting them in the golf cart and then taking me and the clubs to the club house and getting the cart ready with a blue flag for an handicapped person. This is unheard of any place whether it’s a public or a private course. It’s unreal!!!
I was amazed at the service they provided me this time especially at a time when I forgot my walking cane at home in the garage in a hurry. This came in so handy that words cannot describe the timely help and assistance I received from them.

The executive nine has a par 5 you don't find that too often. Course in good shape pace of play very manageable

Nice course
Fun little course. Not the longest but if you miss the fairways there is trouble. Greens a pretty fast with plenty of break to challenge you.
