Good value, narrow holes. Overall, will golf there again.
Great course for a fair rate
Very nice greens. I always enjoy playing this course.
$84 to Walk, $88 to Give In
DFGC seems to actively discourage one of the best parts of golf, the walk. Charging $84 to walk and $88 to ride makes no sense from a value standpoint. A cart is typically a $20 to $25 add on, yet it is priced just $4 higher. This feels less like a reflection of actual costs and more like a calculated bet that most players will choose the cart when the price difference is so small, especially given how expensive golf already is.
Golf is a physical game, and walking the course, being out in nature, is a core part of the experience. It should be encouraged, not treated as an afterthought. Ironically, the course showed visible cart damage in wet areas, which only reinforces the downside of subtly steering players toward carts instead of walking.
To be fair, the course conditions were fine and the greens were solid. But $84 to walk, what are you going to do about it, left a bad impression and took away from the overall experience on principle alone.
I ended up taking a cart, which proves their pricing strategy works, but it also highlights the calculated nature of the decision they are making. They are clearly betting that convenience will outweigh principle for most players. If walking were priced more reasonably, something in the $60 to $65 range, I and likely many others would gladly choose it and return.
Mike
I was not disappointed about course The desk was very good with checking in me in Had no problem with getting a second round and discounted The only thing is cart attendants made me feel unwelcomed I understand that they get bad people more than not when I got done with first round I felt like I was bullied to give cart back My second round was already paid for They need to think before they talk be professional gets you a better result I experienced them complaining about this situation I followed what they asked almost stressed out about trying to get back in time You know you can communicate with the cart to see where we are at and remind people of the 8:15 pm return deadline It’s sad that customers that golf don’t follow your rules that’s part of the mindset of most people today and that sucks I witnessed people all over the course not following rules not a Marshall in site while I was heading back 20 minutes early and when I was packing up and bringing cart back 10 minutes to spare a lot of tension about this subject I understand the tension There are better ways to settle this I get there are bad customers out there the good ones should not have to pay for the starters attitudes Think before you speak I’m sorry for those bad customers I was not one of them You as managers just need to figure out ways to fix this issue I don’t work for you I pay money to enjoy not be bullied because of others Course was good customer service with starters needs to be looked at Management figure that out Maybe deadlines to golf at end of day or just have Marshals out there I will maybe be back but in the back of my mind this situation makes me question your processes This could of been handled better
Exceptional Conditions
I have played this course many times but this year the maintenance of the course is exceptional! Even the sand traps have fresh sand. A great value for the $.
Noisy along the expressway
It's a nice course. There are holes that run along the expressway which leaves a loud din while playing those holes. Big greens! Overall a course worth playing as a muni/park district course.
Deerfield a Good Value With Some Challenging Holes
I play a Deerfield regularly. It’s certainly not the fanciest , flashiest or most difficult but can be rewarding and fun to play. Plenty of risk reward if you are willing to accept or you can manage around as you wish. Plenty of tee boxes for all levels. Only disappointment is tee box on par 5 second which often is pushed way up (heard many reasons from players but not sure real reasons).
liked everything about the course, however staff insists that u share a cart or pay extra for it. every other course i have golfed does not do this.
Course was nice but rough was super long tough day just finding your ball just inches off
