Amazed that they actually took money for this

Local golfer who loves playing this golf course. Upon arrival, we were not notified the least bit about any debris on the golf course. As a matter of fact, I called the golf course at 6 AM and asked about conditions and they said that golf carts currently aren’t just not allowed off the path but that everything else is in good shape. It’s too bad that there was a huge storm the day before and they definitely should have closed the golf course for this day. We had over 4 inches of rain before making the golf course absolutely soaked to begin with. That was not the issue. The issue was an absolute disaster. That disaster would be the actual natural disaster that occurred on the golf course the day before that. Well, I know we can’t control natural disasters. The golf course most certainly can control whether they take money for a golf course full of debris. I’m not talking about a tree branch here and there I’m talking about entire trees in the middle of fairways or full semi trucks driving down the cartpath completely full of trees or branches only need to be dumping their load and coming right back. Not only was the golf course incredibly dangerous to play for fear of hitting any of the workers. It was even more dangerous to walk on because if you didn’t look everywhere you stopped you were guaranteed to fall whether that be into a hole or into a hole in the sand trap or whether that be just tripping on debris, it happened. Multiple times a matter of fact. Being disabled makes it kinda hard to play the golf course from the cart path only but that’s fine. What is hard is walking through trees that have been destroyed and are literally everywhere piled up in mounds all over the place. The greens were horrible. Obviously hadn’t been cut or cups changed in days. Most importantly, the sand traps were just big giant lakes. I never hit a single golf ball into a hazard dinner. I lost half a dozen balls just couldn’t find them either in the fairway, in the bunker, or just lost in the rough under branches or trees that had fallen. After nine holes, I asked if we could please have a rain check for the back nine and the answer was nobody else had a problem with the golf course. Come see us after you play which implied to me that the answer is no. I won’t play here again, nor will my friends. I totally understand that the golf course is there to make money however making money off of me is totally fine if you provide me a product worth making money off of. Unfortunately, the product was not provided in the golf course was in horrible condition. At this point, the clubhouse could care less. We did not see a single beverage cart the entire round. And there wasn’t any water to drink anywhere. This left a really bad taste in my mouth because this is one of my favorite facilities around. It shows me that they care about one thing and one thing only and that’s money. While money is what makes the business run in the world go around, unfortunately today was not a day to be taking money. It was a day to clean the golf course and make sure that you were able to take money the next day because this six hours was total wasted time. Our practicing to get ready for a golf course that nobody told me had to breathe everywhere. I obviously assume that, but when I got off the phone with them at 6 AM and they said the only thing was cards probably will stay on the path today. I was pretty excited about it. The only one on the card path the entire day would be my cart because the GPS screens were out and they had no way to lock us down anyways but oughta respect for the golf course I did what’s right, which is keep the golf cart on the golf cart path which is exactly what they told us to do. I did see a few Rangers out there, but they were too busy Hawking balls out out of the thick rough to care about the lack of Pace.

The top it off, we got to the 10 C box and there were three groups in front of us waiting they said that the group in front of us went in front of the groups in front of them because all three stopped for lunch which made my back line so miserable I left after 13 holes. At that time we were at the four hour mark. What a ridiculous length of time to play a dozen holes of golf. 20 minutes a whole how crazy. Like I said we went into refund our rain check and we were denied. They said that the golf course was in fine shape and everybody out there was having fun and after all the golf course was packed until 5:30 PM. They had no problems with the day being other customers. Why did we? We had tons of problems. The only problem we didn’t have was getting a tee time. That’s only because I booked it in advance.

Like I said, used to love it now I hate it. Won’t give my money there ever again. It’s too bad because I only live about 10 minutes from there.

First Time Playing

Why were they open at all

Well, of course it’s just so so normally, but this time it wasn’t even close. The condition was the worst. I’ve ever seen it in my life and granted I know there was a storm that went through there. They had plenty of trucks out there working on it, but under no circumstances, was it in any condition except play. It was awful. Myself being and disabled person I feared my safety walking through the fairways because there were limbs and branches everywhere. The roof was even worse. I wasn’t certain what to do because the carts were only a car path only so we were told at 1:40 PM. We were the only ones that kept the car on the path. We would never see a Ranger the whole front line and when we would finally hit the top T box there would be three groups up there and the group in front of us originally had skipped them all and gotten out in front of them on 10 making us wait. We had already waited two hours and 30 minutes to play the front line and three groups later. We were well well well into the three hour mark after the 10th key box experience where we almost got killed from a shot off nine. The bottom line is that they certainly shouldn’t have been open until they could have collected all the debris. We didn’t even finish 18 holes. We played 12 in almost 4 hours. Four hours and 30 minutes. Might’ve been acceptable for 18 holes on cart path only but we were the only ones on the path. We are not a second behind as a matter of fact, we waited on every single shot the entire day. We never saw a Ranger in that one time. We only saw somebody there to take our money and a girl who assigned carts and was a starter. She didn’t do anything wrong with the cart we got didn’t have any GPS that worked. It was full of trash and disgustingly filthy. When you go inside and ask for a refund and you’re told just a second and wait 40 minutes because there’s five groups checking in you just walk out and say oh well I guess we got screwed today. That’s not the way to be. If you’re gonna accept money, you expect a certain standard. Yes conditions can affect the golf course but that’s when they’re closed to fix it. Deerfield did close as a matter of fact that everybody and their mother out there because there wasn’t a teatime open until 5:30 PM. It was a miserable experience and I’m saddened that we spent all that money to play there. It’s too bad. It’s close by. It has a nice practice area and I wish it was as good as it should be. But it can’t be after that storm and that’s why they should’ve been closed which is why we should not have had to play.

I like the course it was in great condition. The pace of play was a problem.Four groups of caddies from another course we’re playing in front of us. I think they all thought they were on the tour.
