Course has issues with disease dissatisfied
The fairways are shot and worst condition I have seen. Not sure the issue but very disappointing. Staff great as normal but course is shot
Aldeen Golf Course - Rockford. Play it!
Heard a lot of good things about this course, including being one of the Top 100 courses you can play for under $50. It lived up to the hype. Great practice facility. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Water is the most common hazard. Only negative was the traps need work.
Great value
Awesome municipal course- one of best muni courses I've ever played. Great clubhouse and bathrooms- looks like they are adding a banquet facility.
worth the trip
This course is always in top condition.Cart paths only made it a little difficult,but it drained well.Big greens with subtle breaks.Island green on the par three 8th hole.Straight forward layout can play long.Choose the right tees.Not a bad walk.No big hills.Just an enjoyable place to play.

Not happy to see Aldeen allows blue jean players on course .
Secondly , we walked out of restaurant because of very bad service.
Great course
Course seemed dry for all the rain we had. Tee boxes chewed up. Fairways are drying out.
Great Course!
You'd never know this course was run by a Park Department! The course is challenging, nice layout, great condition and the clubhouse and on-course restroom is top notch. Only thing not great is the food. I felt it was overpriced - more like country club prices and the food quality was mediocre at best.
What a gem of a course
I have been wanting to play this course for some time ......my only regret is not playing it sooner. I cannot wait to come out and play it again!
April Golf
I golf at Aldeen about 10-15 times a year. Course is always in great shape. Soft sand, great fairways, gps and scorecard on the carts and brought water and trees to make it a challenge. The only downfall is th restaurant and bar closes fairly early. I golf here a lot after work and even though it was a beautiful April day they closed at 5. Even in the summer they Weill shut down around 8 or 9. It was in great shape for April and greens will be in even better shape and faster in the next couple weeks.

one of the nicest courses you’ll ever play for under $100! Staff is always friendly and the course is beautiful. I never go through Rockford without trying to play this course!
Alden GC -Rockford, IL
A superb public golf course that consistently receives very high marks. Layout is excellent with water, tree and sand hazards enough to challenge your A-game. Alden is also excellently maintained.
The Clubhouse is adequate for a pre or post round bite and beverage for you and your foursome. Unfortunately there are no facilities on grounds to host a “playday” or special event, but the RPD is investing funds over the winter to build them.
