Course
Greens were very very slow & they charged extra for old beat up push carts. They also did not manage pace of play well as a group was playing very slow causing the course to be held up.
The course was in very condition Play under four hours The people I golfed with were friendly this was my 2nd round There will be a third
Course Plays Long
Although the White tees are only a little more than 5,800 yards, this course always seems to play much longer. The Par 5s are relatively short but there are several Par 4s that make up the difference. Not much water or bunkers but if you find them, they can drive up your score. Only negative is the course doesn't drain well and after a short or steady rain, the course can get sloppy.
Pace of play was not good, greens slow and many bare spots in the fiarways.
Fall conditions
They did an excellent job with the leaves. The greens were in good shape.
Groundskeepers
It looked like groundskeepers just kept up with us in every hole for the first 7 holes blowing leaves our way
Good Course for weekdays
The course was fun to play for the first time. However, there are things that made me not want to come back. There was a group of very bad and very slow golfers in front of me. The round took 5 hours to complete. I don't care if someone is bad at golf, but there needs to be a ranger monitoring pace of play. There was no one in front of the very slow foursome and I noticed a lot of poor etiquette overall during the round.
The greens were good and the bunkers were fine. The holes and layout were fun. Fairways were not great and there was no fringe next to the green which was bizarre.
Price was great and the course was fun to try, but I wouldn't come back on a weekend or with more experienced golfers. It seems like the kinda place where you get a lot of beginner/slower golfers. Chicagoland has a million courses to try so this one wouldn't be at the top of my list now that I've tried it. Good price though and in fall it was still pretty!
