Must stay in the fairway! Foursome had a good time.
Played with my weekend foursome this past weekend at The Meadows and really had a good time. One partner had never played the course before and the others had not seen the course in years. After our round, all agreed that we would play it again before the season ended. The only issue we had was the back up on the first couple of holes. Hole #1 is a short par 4 and the second hole is tough little par 3. When we finished #1, there was 2 foursomes waiting at #2. A two-some behind us tried to skip #2 but when we got to #3, they were still on the tee box. Course did not open up until the 11th hole. This made it a 5 hour round.
meadows first try
The course was in good condition, a few areas had some standing water but overall it was in good shape. The greens were pretty true and a bit quick. Day was perfect and I was paired up with a golfer who had played here many times so he was able to give me the low down on each hole. Even though we caught up to a 4 some at the 10th hole we were only delayed at the last two holes for any length of time. We finished the round in about 3.5 hours. I certainly will be back and with some of the specials that are offered this is a very economical choice for a mid week round.
Worth the drive
Course was in good shape. Greens were very good. Staff was very nice and courtesy. Food and service was great. Will be going back again.
peaceful day on the link's
Peaceful quite day shot my lowest score to date bears opening day no one out.but the die hard golfers
Very very slow
I golfed this course on a Thursday and went out by myself expecting around a 3.5 hr round or less. Well, at four hours I was on the 12th hole at which point I just left because I didn't have time to golf another slow 6 holes. They had me start on 10 right in the midst of a mens league. On the front nine, I was behind the women's high school golf practice. All four-somes that were all walking. Took an hour to play 3 holes. It was extremely frustrating having a 5-10 minute wait in between shots. They should not have scheduled any tee times while leagues and practices were going on.
Horrible Pace, Avergae Course
Overall, is as good as can be expected for a municipal course. Not the worst but definitely not the best. Pace of play was crazy just because of all the singles on the course. Our foursome would let a single play through, as we should have, but then another single would catch up, and another, and another....it got to the point where it was ridiculous.
A lot of blind holes on this course and with the way the grass is maintained, makes it hard to differentiate between some nearby fairways as yours or another hole.
I would go back if it were free but that is about it.
Course was quiet and not rushed
Was a good day. Course was nice not too rough. Staff was pleasant.
Great course for the money but play is too slow
I play this course on average once a week. I''ve never had a problem except for today. The Rangers need to step up and enforce proper golf ettquette by moving slower groups along. My partner and I were 3 holes behind a particular foursome. They must have stopped for lunch because we met up with them at the turn. They would not allow my partner and I (twosome) through. Subsequently, the whole course got backed up waiting on these guys who were taking their sweet time and playing from the blue tees of which they were woefully lacking in skill. It took us an hour longer than normal to play.
This course is an interesting mix
The course is built on a landfill which makes it an excellent usage for those who are into environmental friendly concepts. It has few trees but numerous high grass and rough areas. The condition of the course was good but some areas require a little more maintenance.
But as the old sayings goes any day golfing beats being at work.
It was an enjoyable day.
Great course
They keep the course in great shape, only issue is, they stack up the tee times, need to have some separation between pairings. Otherwise, the best course to play for the price!
Meadows
This place was a favorite course a few years ago but recently they started to over price themselves, if you can find a deal on line it's worth it but only with a price cut
Meadows-great value
Nice layout, pretty open. Course took a lot of rain in night before so was cart path only but not overly long course so was fine. To keep pace of play up, course should make it carts only until 11am like some Chicago area placed do!
Jeff T
I couldn't even play! They had no carts available and they were so behind. Not a good place to go.
good course, good price
Good course, good price mid day week days.
BuyCourse very well maintains fairways
Great value
Course is rough in a few places, but overall, a nice place with great value.
Meadows golf Course
This was my first time playing the course. There are several blind shots from the tee starting with the first hole; it rises gently completely obscuring the contour of the fairway; you just hit and hope. The greens were in great shape, but a little slow (after a couple hole I figured out the pace). The back is more challenging than the front. The course does not drain well, I've made a mental note to play Meeadows for several days after a heavy down pour. I look forward to playing Meadows Golf course again, and recommend this course. Oh, and, playing from the white tees is roughly 6300 yards, the blue tees is roughly 6600 yards.
Good value
The Meadows course plays about 6,500 yards from the back tees and has a course layout that requires you to use most clubs in your bag. It is not difficult but more challenging than most municipal courses. It is worth playing at the price point.
First time down and dirty fix
Played this course for $20 so the price was right the weather was great. Course was a little too open even for a links style course, need more bunkers and mounds to protect it. Tee boxes a bit bare but the rest of the course was is great condition. Rough was thick in spots and neatly trimmed in spots my friend played there before and said much of the tall grasses 6+inches were mowed down to 3inches making the course play easier than in the past. A good little course when you just gotta have a golf fix.
played course a few times
Hit an eagle on the 10th first time so this might be my favorite course now but my golf season just sarted this year
