Meadows-great value
Nice layout, pretty open. Course took a lot of rain in night before so was cart path only but not overly long course so was fine. To keep pace of play up, course should make it carts only until 11am like some Chicago area placed do!
Jeff T
I couldn't even play! They had no carts available and they were so behind. Not a good place to go.
good course, good price
Good course, good price mid day week days.
BuyCourse very well maintains fairways
Great value
Course is rough in a few places, but overall, a nice place with great value.
Meadows golf Course
This was my first time playing the course. There are several blind shots from the tee starting with the first hole; it rises gently completely obscuring the contour of the fairway; you just hit and hope. The greens were in great shape, but a little slow (after a couple hole I figured out the pace). The back is more challenging than the front. The course does not drain well, I've made a mental note to play Meeadows for several days after a heavy down pour. I look forward to playing Meadows Golf course again, and recommend this course. Oh, and, playing from the white tees is roughly 6300 yards, the blue tees is roughly 6600 yards.
Good value
The Meadows course plays about 6,500 yards from the back tees and has a course layout that requires you to use most clubs in your bag. It is not difficult but more challenging than most municipal courses. It is worth playing at the price point.
First time down and dirty fix
Played this course for $20 so the price was right the weather was great. Course was a little too open even for a links style course, need more bunkers and mounds to protect it. Tee boxes a bit bare but the rest of the course was is great condition. Rough was thick in spots and neatly trimmed in spots my friend played there before and said much of the tall grasses 6+inches were mowed down to 3inches making the course play easier than in the past. A good little course when you just gotta have a golf fix.
played course a few times
Hit an eagle on the 10th first time so this might be my favorite course now but my golf season just sarted this year
Course in poor condition
Course is in poor condtion. New managemnt has priced this course too high given its condition.
The Meadows
The greens are in surprisingly good shape from the harsh winter , the course is obviously trying to improve , pace of play is an issue . The meadows is still a good value for the money
Not Bad!
Decent course. First good weather of the season. Hope they don't allow fivesomes when weather gets better.
Course was too wet and lots of water on fairway
Course condition was not good because of too much water and greens were too slow.
1st day of golf
Considering the winter we had the course was playable
First round os 2014
The course was as good as can be expected after a hard winter. I played front 9 and shot a 46. Not many players on a Monday in March to slow me down. It was chilly, but sunny and little wind.
I stopped into club house for a snack. Wait staff were very friendly. Food was good and reasonable. They make home made chili and beef stew. I went and played back 9 (95 over all). The ponds were still frozen over, but I was able to push my tees into the ground. There is no rough yet and lots of proof that geese like the area (especially on the greens).
I recommend the Meadows to anyone wanting to get their first round of the season in. The price is right on GolfNow.
A FUN COURSE TO PLAY!
A FUN TIME PLAYING THIS COURSE .FIRST TIME PLAYING AND IT WAS GREAT.WELL LAYED OUT WITH A FEW GOOD SURPRISES.WILL BE PLAYING HERE A LOT
This course has constant improvements
This is my favorite course on the south side of Chicago
Good Course
Course is good except the greens are average. The are doing major construction currently but course is still very playable. After work is done course should be way better. Overall it is an average course compared to other courses. 4 out of 5 stars is a generous rating. It's not the nicest course around but still challenging.
Keeps Improving
This course keeps improving from the original where the developer did not use enough fill to cover the old dump it was built on. Good links layout and great value for the money. Greens are good, not super fast but not fuzzy and slow like some others in the area.
Great Chicago course.
This course is very well maintained, the fairways and greens are in fantastic shape. They had rangers out moving the pace (played 18 in under 4 hours). This course is way better than playing a Chicago park district course. Will play this course again soon.
Challenging course !!!
Nice and challenging course !!! Only thing is that the beer cart never came around while we played 18 holes. Otherwise all in all a nice course to play.
