The Meadows Golf Club of Blue Island

Actually become the lowest quality golf course in all of the chicagoland area. $60 this summer is beyond hilarious. Waters edge prices with grammarschool football fields for fairways.😂😂😂

Have played meadows about 20 times now i swear it gets worse everytime while the price constantly goes up somehows. Easiest course with the worst fairways within 20 miles of it.

The greens were in great shape and quick except for one hole which had multiple damage holes which I assume were from an animal. Sand traps were consistent throughout the course.

Course is pretty open with an exception of a few holes. Some challenging holes. One bummer was cart beverage staff was cash only.

Paid for a cart but was made to join a group of 3,6 hours to play 18 holes. Way to overcrowded! Would suggest not playing on Sunday.

Fun track if you’re looking for a confidence builder. Can’t get into too much trouble and the layout is open! Currently the rough is playing like deep deep rough. Very hard to find your ball when it’s just off the fairway. Would recommend if looking to have fun.

The course double booked threesomes and foursomes at the same times when we arrived at 11:00. Did not tee off until noon and there was two other groups behind us with the same tee time as ours.

played course for 1st time, solo on a wet tuesday. played/walked blue tees, some tough par 4s on the back, par 3s were all 170+ yds, par 5s were pretty straight-forward. not much in way of water hazards, which is ok. rough was tough, had rain last few days so they didnt get chance to cut much of it, few times had to just hack way forward. good course, good challenge, will come back again.

The course books tee times every 5 min which contributed to significant slow play. The ranger was going around and addressing slow play and even blaming it on us sometimes but it was nobody’s fault but the 5 minute tee time intervals. Another contributing factor to this review was that the course was overgrown. The rough was way too high and should have been mowed again. Lastly, there were puddles of water on the green and I don’t even think it rained the night before, I truly believe it was from the sprinklers.

This was a nice course. It was long and fun to play. My one gripe is that the pins did not have numbers on the flags and at a few points greens were very near one another so it was a bit difficult to tell which pin was for which hole. With some time and experience on the course I’m sure it’d be easier to tell but I’m pretty sure I played the 18th green twice. That said it didn’t cause any trouble because I was one of the only people out in the course at 7am so I got to breeze through and could set my own pace. Word to the wise, the bees on the course are very persistent. I didn’t have any sweet drinks or snacks and still I was waving bees away the last 4 or 5 holes.

When we arrived 15 minutes before our 11:10 tee time, we were told that there was a problem!! The golf course had an outing starting at 12 noon and we wouldn't be allowed to play 18 holes. We were offered a rain check for future golf, but I drove 2 hours to meet my golfing partner ( who drove over an hour), so I didn't feel a rain check would do us any good.

When I made this reservation, I called the golf course and was told that on weekends I would have to book with Golf Now, which I did.

This is the problem when booking with third parties. Either GN screwed this up, or the golf course didn't update GN that there was an outing.
