About
Blackberry Oaks in Bristol is a public golf course that has been recognized as one of the Chicagoland area's best courses. The course design utilizes the natural beauty and hazards of the landscape including the native wetlands, grassy prairies, and towering stands of mature oaks. Blackberry Creek also meanders through the course. In addition to the natural hazards, a heavy smattering of strategically placed bunkers was also incorporated into the design. Although it can seem intimidating, the golf course isn't overly formidable if you can manage to stay out of the sand and water. The third and 12th holes are two par 4s that are memorable for their water hazards. The third has a lake along either side and the 12th has a green that is almost entirely surrounded by water.

Best Course In The AREA!
I’ve been golfing here at blackberry for a quite a while! The staff is amazing here, always smiling and welcoming you like it’s your first time ! The course is always kept clean, so your golfing experience can be amazing every time! Golf carts have GPS tracker for site map , Bluetooth and electronic score cards, so you can always be engaged ! There’s not another course I would rather play at then Blackberry Oaks! - Trevino
Windy ride
Got to the course early and was allowed to fall into an earlier tee time. Pared with two other players and was able to play the round in 3 hours. Course was in excellent condition and play moved well. We had a foursome in front and a twosome behind and all played quickly. Fun time and the rain weather held off.

Course is in really good shape for this time of year and greens rolled fantastic
Good course, great value
This course is usually over $50 to play. Found a $36 deal time and booked it. Would play every month at that price. Challenging course, greens currently in good condition. Guy in pro shop super friendly.

Very nice staff. Course in good shape for time of year. Bunkers hard but expected. People ahead of us walking were slow. Water on some holes not too challenging though.
Always a good value
Course is in very good shape. A challenging layout with good balance of more difficult and less difficult holes. Greens aerated two weeks ago but are progressing nicely.
Fall Golf
Always a fun and challenging course to play. Greens were recently aerated but putting conditions were good. The only negative about the course was some of the traps were a bit hard with some a little rocky. The staff are always friendly and helpful and their golf carts with GPS and music available are great. Love playing Blackberry.
Best deal for a beautiful course with full amenities.
We picked this course due to reviews from this site and had a fantastic time. The creek meanders throughout the course and the holes are laid are perfectly so that you can take the conventional route or try for a challenging shot. The carts have GPS screens, so your distance is given to you on every shot. The greens are fair and not crazy fast and challenging. There are plenty of trees and enough water to make you hit true or you will be in trouble.
Extremely slow start
I had a 9:00 tee time. When I arrived to the first hole, there were already 12 people waiting. While waiting, about 16 more people showed up. No was was out ahead playing so not sure what happened. For whatever reason, the first group started around 9:20am. I didn’t get going till after 10:15. I’ve never had a round pushed back this for with no explanation. Other than that...the rest of the round was very enjoyable. I’d go back and recommend this course to others, as I’ve been here before and this has never happened.
Nice, but
Nice course with several interesting holes and mostly pretty. Greens were in great shape. The negative was that the ground was very hard throughout. They need to do more aerating on the fairways and rough. Otherwise, very nice.
Solid Pick
I’ve played this course for many years. Its always been a solid value. Not a lot of drama in the layout, as the holes are pretty straightforward. All in all a good value and the course is always in great condition.
