Blackberry Oaks Golf Club
About
Blackberry Oaks in Bristol is a public golf course that has been recognized as one of the Chicagoland area's best courses. The course design utilizes the natural beauty and hazards of the landscape including the native wetlands, grassy prairies, and towering stands of mature oaks. Blackberry Creek also meanders through the course. In addition to the natural hazards, a heavy smattering of strategically placed bunkers was also incorporated into the design. Although it can seem intimidating, the golf course isn't overly formidable if you can manage to stay out of the sand and water. The third and 12th holes are two par 4s that are memorable for their water hazards. The third has a lake along either side and the 12th has a green that is almost entirely surrounded by water.

Course in very poor condition.
We arrived about 1/2 hour early for our t-time. We were told we had to wait until our exact t-time even though as we waited we saw no one starting to play... no explanation offered. T-boxes were in horrible shape -- hard to find any grass. Some fairways were the same. We have played this course before and have never remembered it in such terrible shape. We used to recommend this course, but do not plan to return and will not recommend moving forward.
Awesome golf for a great price.
Love the layout. Greens were true and very fair. Definitely will play again and I drove 44 miles.
Great course.
This is our new go to course. We found it 2 weeks ago and have been back 4 times. The course is beautiful, interesting and good for all levels. Staff is great. Carts are updated to Bluetooth technology.
Nice course
This was my first time and playing and was in very good shape. Played as a foursome in under 4 hours.
Enjoyable Course
My husband and I played Blackberry Oaks for the first time and we'll be going back. It was a challenging course for both of us, as you need strategy, not power, to play well. There was more water on the course than I like but only one water hole really challenged me out of my comfort zone. Some of the tee boxes were really torn up, which was unfortunate. Overall, the course was very pleasant and playable and worth the long drive to get to Bristol. The starter was a really pleasant guy with a lot of good tips about the course. Nice people. Nice place.
Nice course, good value
Very nice course for the money. Their tee boxes need a little work very hard.
Blackberry Oaks Review
Always fun to play. Most holes have a feature that is very penal if you hit it there. About half the holes are straight forward and not too difficult. The other holes can be quite challenging. This is a good balance I think. Very good condition. Course was full for a Tuesday. Pace of play was reasonable but methodical. 4 hr 20 min round. I consider 3 hr 45 min very doable.
Great Course
The course was well maintained. Putting greens were the best of all the courses I have played all summer. Pace of play was very fast. Great course.
Needing a little work
The course overall conditions are good. The greens however were quite slow and inconsistent.
Got held up by a group of kids and adults who decided it was okay to become a group of seven, for the last two holes.
Instead of a drink girl meeting us on every other hole, a ranger and some greens maintenance would have been more valued.
We played at a Hot times discounted rate otherwise, it would not have been worth the rack rate. Other local courses are in better playing shape!
Good track for busy day
Good track for a busy summer day. Course offers in cart Gps which is a plus to new players. Greens are better recently than prior rounds. Worth checking out. Chad the pro is nice and helpful to everyone and runs it well.
Great course!!
This is the 3rd time I’ve played at this course. I have more fun every single time! Great fairways and great greens! I have nothing bad to say about this place!
