About
Blackberry Oaks in Bristol is a public golf course that has been recognized as one of the Chicagoland area's best courses. The course design utilizes the natural beauty and hazards of the landscape including the native wetlands, grassy prairies, and towering stands of mature oaks. Blackberry Creek also meanders through the course. In addition to the natural hazards, a heavy smattering of strategically placed bunkers was also incorporated into the design. Although it can seem intimidating, the golf course isn't overly formidable if you can manage to stay out of the sand and water. The third and 12th holes are two par 4s that are memorable for their water hazards. The third has a lake along either side and the 12th has a green that is almost entirely surrounded by water.

Slow pace of play
Five some in front of us and ranger did not speed them up….
Great Conditions
The course is in great condition, much improved over previous years. The greens were a little slow though. We played in under 4 hours on a Friday afternoon, so that's pretty good.
Pond problem
Ponds need attention and aeration - smell like raw sewage and saw snakes in them.
It took over 5 hours to play 18 holes. There was a 5 person group in front of me and a group of 6 in front of them. Took way to long
Pace of Play is awful
Played on a Friday afternoon and the Pace of Play was horrendous. No ranger and the course is a free for all. Not worth the money!
Redesign 18
18 ruins the whole course. Stupid design with ridiculous trees blocking a great green.
Best Course in Bristol!!
They keep the course in really good shape all season long. If you are looking for quick greens that roll true and well maintained fairways, this is the place for you. I’ve never had a bad experience at BlackBerry and highly recommend everyone to try it out!!
Very challenging course. Only negative was the condition of the sand traps

The course ranger tried to move things along but the foursome in front of us was unresponsive to his urgings
Early Round to Beat the Heat
I wanted to get out for an early round in the midst of this heatwave and I was pleasantly surprised to be able to book at this course as a single through GolfNow. The green fee was reasonable at $57 including fees. The course is in good shape and mostly playable. The greens were dry, hard, and fast which made scoring difficult, but overall it was an enjoyable round. I will return to this course.
