Golfer Reviews
Frustrating-Punched Greens, not informed ahead of time
Upon arrival, we found a handwritten note on the pro shop door saying, "Punched greens today." The note also included this disclaimer: "If they are not done punching the greens on the back nine by the time you make the turn, you will just play the front again."
I know greens must be punched, but this information should be provided beforehand.
The Golf Now website and the course website should notate this, I checked both prior to booking and there was no mention of this.
Fast Greens and some work to do
The greens were super fast and rolled true. Some of the tee boxes and a few fairways were really beat up. The course needs some work in those areas,
Challenging layout, rough conditions
Course was pretty beat up, grubs are everywhere and the animals are feasting. Solid setup, was much nicer earlier in the year.
Slow Pace of Play
The course was relatively empty but there was one group that was extremely slow. Groups were backing up and players were becoming very frustrated. No ranger to rememdy the problem.
Listen to the other reviews
I’m not sure how much to fault the course but expect a 5 hour round. The course is almost needlessly challenging so steer clear if you are a beginner or not willing to wait 5 minutes each tee box. Golfers on every hole are visible from everywhere and creates a very claustrophobic feeling. The greens rolled true and greens fees are very fair. This is not a good choice for an imromptu golf outing, expect a battle with narrow fairways dog-legs and multiple water carries per hole.
What could be
Course maintenance here has gone downhill. Divots throughout the fairways and greens. Looks like a minefield. For the price they charge you would expect a top notch ground crew. Some of this has to do with golfers not taking responsibility it repair their own marks. Lazy people I guess. But still on the facility to correct. Tough course to walk. Hilly. I recommend riding a cart but that will cost you another $20… I won’t be back until next year to see if they have fixed the issue.
On a side note the food at the restaurant attached is absolute trash. Should have known better when I was the only one eating there at 530 after a round.
Great Course!!
Played 18 holes here for the first time. The course was in excellent condition given it's towards the end of the season. Greens were fast and rough was well maintained. Pace was a little bit slow, took just over 5 hours to play 18. Excellent layout!
Unfortunately there was no cart girl that came through during the entire duration of the round.
Nice place to play, if only I had a game
Nice course, well maintained, very friendly staff. Course ranger was attentive to a slow group and kept things moving.
time of play
4:45 to play 18 is terrible--the ranger said the was a foursome 3 groups ahead of us that was 2 1/2 holes behind but there was nothing he could do about it without permission--should never even had gotten to that--bad when you get to the 10th tee and there are 3 groups there waiting on the tee box-must have been some stop at the turn-- some sort of mini outing that had no clue of pace of play or even cared--only out to have a few beers and talk not golf
Very slow pace
It was hot day and pace of the play was horrible. For about half the hole there were two teams waiting at the tee box other than the team teeing off. And I didnt see any ranger during the whole round.
