Great tight course
Love playing here the course is challenging and well maintained
One of my favorite spots
This is always one of my favorite places to play. It’s not too difficult and usually not overcrowded so you’re not feeling rushed like some courses. Great place to try and teach a beginner or hone your own skills
Great 9 hole layout
I enjoyed the layout and the course. Challenging on several holes to play strategically with an iron off the tee instead of using the driver.
SUPER SLOW
The course ranger is absolutely incompentent and rude. Rest of staff is great. Been going here for almost three years because we live down the street and every year it gets worse a little worse. They put a putting green in which is cool, it’s about time, but someone please tell the staff to ROLL the freaking course. It is BEYOND bumpy. Suggest walking because you and your clubs will bounce around all 9 holes. Also stay away from the coors light tap, they definitely don’t clean it. If you do go, go early morning or late afternoon. My old man and I usually play best ball depending on the pace and go between 10 and 2 and because of that ranger, it always takes 3-4 hours. Hard to enjoy sometimes. Cheers.
Poor course conditions
Weedy rough with clover and crabgrass. Greens in poor condition. Fairways just ok.
Would not play again.
Well woth playing
When they are not busy, this can be one of the most fun courses in North Chicago. Two holes are outstanding. An elevated par 3 tee. And,, a sharp dogleg guarded by trees. Nice placement of running water (a creek) too. Showing wear and tare but still an excellent course.
Kemper Sports could do better
For a 9 hole course. $45 is a steep price for and average maintained course. They even went as far as not having water stations anywhere on the course. No water fountains, jugs, etc.
Playing in 90 degree heat, no water is a cheap way the club apparently saves money.
I would have to expected better from the Kemper Brand.
Bring your own water jug!!!
