Klein Creek Golf Club

About
Klein Creek Golf Club sprawls across acres of rolling prairieland in the western suburbs of Chicago. Trees frame the layout's gentle doglegs and tall prairie grasses border the fairways. It is a golf course that offers both beautiful scenery and a challenging round. Several lakes also dot the landscape, coming into play on almost every hole. The abundant water hazards are often coupled with spacious, intricately designed bunkers that are also usually paired with wood retaining walls. Contoured mounding frames the fairways and greens as well. Klein Creek Golf Club's layout is not easy by any means but it's fair, offering room for error on even the tougher holes with wide fairways and generous landing areas. There are a variety of approach options for the greens as well, providing great risk-reward opportunities.

Klein creek
Course was an excellent shape. The greens remind her really fast and roll very well. Same traps around the greens are in great shape. It is a bonus I meant three nice people Who I truly enjoy playing with.
Klein Creek Still a Good Track
It was my first visit to the course in a couple of years, and I was pleased to see a venue that was in great shape and run well. The course was very wet after recent rains so we had a cart path only restriction. This slowed play but was understandable. The food and beverage options were very good, and the outside bar made it easy to get what we wanted.
Bring ur short game
An absolute hidden gem! Fairways/greens/bunkers are pure af!! This course is short/narrow/ and the fairways/greens roll out more than you'd expect. It's not long by any means but very narrow with quick greens! This course will keep you honest and ur score will rely on ur short game.
Only downfall about this course is the old bunkers they haven't repaired yet. Other than that 5/5 stars
Overall among the Best Values in Chicagoland
Seeing the ongoing transformation at Klein Creek over the past few years has been an eye opening experience in how a handful of interested people making solid, meaningful decisions and wise investments can make all the difference in a golf location.
The overall results are excellent to the point that I would today have to rank it among the best values in golf in all of Chicagoland.
Klein Creek delivers on everything that matters most to me as a golfer; Great conditions, Tee to Green, Fairways Bunkers and every cut that comes intio play.
I have always appreciated that this course offers serious challenges alternating with ample opportunities to score with good decision making and execution. This is what the game is all about.
Things less important to me continue to impress of the course with friendly, helpful staff all around and food which is well beyond average... that's not even fair.. everything I've tried has been excellent. Find is reasonably priced for the quality but drinks may cost more than your local social hangout. The atmosphere approaches upscale without being stuffy or pretentious. Bathrooms are clean which is always a plus.
If I must throw in some drawbacks it would have to be the lack of a full driving range and chipping/pitching practice areas are limited. There are some hitting bays available for warm-up which are appreciated, but I really do prefer my practice routine to include full flight under current conditions. Fortunately, and better than many courses, Klein Creek's practice greens very accurately reflect the conditions you'll find on the course and that's very important to me for expectations early in the round.
My opinion of Klein Creek has not always been positive. I wrote one vey bitter...I think a rare two-star review some years back when they just lost it all and it was an absolute mess and no fun to play. When I heard the course was under new independent ownership and not some mega golf course management company, I actually pityed the fool... but this is what makes this particular transformation so much more impressive. It had to take tremendous patience, vision, and a LOT of money to achieve and I do hope it's paying off.
My hat is off to all involved! Please keep up the great work! I play frequently and all around Chicagoland so I'm confident in stating that --at the price-- you're unlikely to find a much better value in the area for overall great golf. I look forward to playing here again soon!
Klein Creek comments
No carts allowed in the parking lot. Parking lot to cart loading is down two flights of stairs.
New sand only in bunkers near greens. Sand is very pebbly, not sandy.
No driving range. No driving range.
Greens fast but rolled very true.
Saw only two families of geese at the tenth tee.
Did I say no driving range.
Not so great condition
Weather has played a factor with the course not being in such good condition. The greens were is pretty good condition. Other than that, nothing really positive to say.
Course condition
Given the time of year course was is in good condition
however the bunkers need major attention!!!
Pace is slow.
Pace is slow. Only played 12 holes. Almost 4 hours for that!
Course was in great shape but play was slow
Really can’t complain because the weather for November was beautiful. However 3hours 20 min to play 12 holes was way to long. Decided to stop after #12. Not much help getting people to move along by the staff but the intentions where good.
Same course, better shape
Played this course years ago and all the flooding that use to plague the course made it leary to play it again. Had an outting for the Folds of Honor and wanted to refimiliarize myself with the course. The course was in great shape. Some tee boxes were a little rough. The sand was actually pleasant to hit out of.
Great condition and challenging
The course was in amazing shape… fairways, greens, sand… everything was immaculate. Tough layout with narrow fairways and lots of water. Good day overall.
Not best day
Clubhouse person was very good; explained rain checks and weather.
Way too much maintenance activity: I felt like I should rush to get out their way which was the whole round.
Slow twosome in front of me and an impatient twosome behind me also made me feel rushed.
Layout is confusing so maybe more signage needed.
Too much goose poop!
This course is not for everyone because it's steeply hilly. Sand traps almost require a ladder.
Worth playing; will play again but I will have to be prepared.
