Turnberry Country Club

My gas cart stalled 3 times in parking lot and pro shop worker looked at me as if I was a nut. I drove it 20 feet and this was before I started. I was driving to my car to get the clubs. What did he do? He opened the seat and shook the motor to get it to run. He didn't offer a new cart. So I ended up shaking the cart several times ON THE COURSE to get it to run. Obviously, the fuel intake valve was not working. Also, the bar and restaurant area was vacant on a Sunday which is very strange. I would not be surprised if this club is sold or closed. Something is admission here. Greens in poor shape too. This place has issues. Think twice before playing here.

Course wash in good shape, challenging enough, nice layout. Pro shop was very basic. Did not offer much. Carts were old and used a generic Android tablet for the GPS. Tables were in very poor shape and the app was confusing, when it worked. And no beverage cart...on a Sunday! I'd play there again due to the Golfpass price and the course itself but would not pay full price.

Course doesn't manage the pace of play. It was 5 hours and 20 minutes to play. Cart ran out of gas on 4th hole. GPS didn't work in that cart. GPS didn't work in replacement cart.

Charged me $32 for my daughter to ride in the cart with me and not play.

Staff doesn't care at all about pace of play. Zero management onsite on a weekend. Would never play there again.

Slow threesome players in front of us. Three Players behind us complained our foursome was slow. They were very uncouth and belligerent to the two other players in our group. We can only play the pace from the group in front of us, which they had no clue of the understanding.

...after several years to play this course. The course itself seems to be going through a resurgence from tee to green. They are spending money where it makes a difference - on the course, equipment and a full staff! The sand traps which I visited several times appeared to be newer sand and I witnessed the crew maintaining them out on number 8 which was great to see! It's true, the clubhouse and carts need an upgrade yet I'll be back to enjoy this course at a reasonable Senior cost! It's a beautiful layout and the tree's make it tough when you veer off...the rough is true rough and not like hitting from your backyard. Challenging yet fair...had a great time!

Turnberry CC presents as a mid-to-high tier muni and does not disappoint having played 18 on a miserably hot day.

Staff: Incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful, almost as if they hated having to work. My “assigned” playing partner went to take the gas cart back to his car and it stalled 3 times. When he asked for another cart, they flat refused. He limped it over to me on the 1st tee where I took great care to make sure we completed a round without having to walk.

Driving Range: Every shot was not “like” hitting out of 3 inches of rough, it was literally rough height and unkempt. There were no buckets available so I grabbed all of the available buckets on the range for the other patrons and I to use the ball machine.

Course: The course played like a low-end CC or mid-to-high tier municipal course with smooth greens rolling consistently. The rough was pretty unkempt so it was like playing a tough tournament where you got punished in the thick stuff.

Overall, I think this course still has some life, but the staff lack kindness and the golf carts need to be replaced.

Right away they give us a golf cart that can’t hold the scorecard or pencil on the steering wheel and the range finder that’s on the cart didn’t work either. We had a threesome and asked the staff if they could move the random person in our group to the tee time after cause it had open spots and they said yes and then never told the random about it so he still played with us. After the first hole we had to wait for two groups ahead of us to tee off on whole two. It took one hour to complete two holes..

The price is good, grass range, and a nice friendly clubhouse. The carts are in horrible shape: golf cart died and had to be jumped, steering wheel so beat up I couldn’t write scores ontop of it, and the gps is a tablet that didn’t work. The course itself wasn’t in good shape but not unplayable.

RAINED OUT AFTER 2 HOLES. TOLD COULD ONLY GET RAIN CHECK BY CALLING GOLF NOW, BY THE OWNER , SONNY. HE STATED GOLF NOW WOULD CALL THE COURSE AND VERIFY IT WAS RAINED OUT. SOUNDED A BIT STANGE. LOOKING TO SEE HOW WE GET OUR RAIN CHECK
