Take a pass on this one
I rarely leave reviews, but this course was pretty poor. 3rd tee time at 6:17 am on a Sunday and it was a 5 hour round. Greens were miserably slow and the rough was way too long. And the dandelions all over the course were pretty bad too. For 50 bucks there are plenty of better courses
Managed poorly
Managed poorly for our round on a Saturday. They had some tournament going on but told us that they are all really bad at golfing so we’re starting you on the back 9 to get going quicker. No problem except they started everyone from there so we had to wait at the tee box for two other groups to go off before us. I got there half an hour early to putt around and saw no one go off the front nine, why were they making us go the back nin? Plus the tournament players were a disgrace. They kept just driving rh golf cart around the course, not even playing golf. Rolled up just as we were teeing off to say “hi we’re just rolling by to watch,” and then sped off. Then another group drives their cart on the path in front of our tee box AS WE ARE HITTING so we had to literally stand back from the ball and wait...totally ruined the whole round. My buddies and I play here pretty regularly and all said we won’t be coming back again, we will go to tanna or mill for the same price.
GREAT VALUE
BEAUTIFUL DAY COARSE IN EXCELLENT SHAPE.BEAST ITS BEEN IN YEARS,ALTHOUGH IT'S ALWAYS BEEN GOOD.DOING EXCELLENT THINGS OUT THERE,HOPE THEY KEEP GREAT PRICES,GREAT VALUE.LOVED IT.THANKS
Fine day of golf
The corse was in very good condition and I feel it was a good value. We will be back.
Great as usual.
Very forgiving track for the "Hacker" like me. Course is in excellent shape for late July. Always a great time at Hughes Creek.
Fun Track
I like the course layout with the changes in elevation.
Number 11 should be a par five by adding a trap in the fairway but overall a good, fun place to play
Course nice but crowded
My tee time was changed without being notified but I got on a twosome. Nice course but didn’t feel welcomed by golf shop. Bar staff was very friendly.
Disappointing
I hadn't played this course in a couple years. All I can say was it was a disappointment. The conditions of the course was no where near what it had been in the past. The rough was so deep you couldn't find your ball even when you knew where it landed. Parts of the fairways were not mowed as should be either. There were strands of grass as long as three or four inches in the fairway. The greens were also long. Saying the putting was slow is an understatement.
One of my Favorite Course
One of my Favorite Course. Plan to play several more times this year.
super nice staff, course great, excellent drainage
course was definitely playable even after a good rain shower morning of and night before. course is nice challenge with lots of strategic holes. staff was super pleasant and appreciatative of our visit, which is always a great sign. :). thanks hughes creek for letting us squeeze in another round before winter sets in.
Great Course for the Money
Played on a windy October afternoon - twosome in under 3 hrs and 45 minuted. For a low cost Forest Preserve course, in was in great condition. Greens were in great shape although a bit slow. Nice hilly layout with lots of elevation change. Highly recommend for all levels.
Late summer round at HC
Conditions were decent, but there was fertilizer on the greens and the maintenance folks were hand watering just ahead of us so some of the greens were squishy.
Great Value
Ssmmie, the PGA pro, is almost always there to greet customers. He has figured out customer service and I always look forward to seeing him. Course is in real good shape from tees to fairways to greens. Five holes were cart paths only because of recent rains. But this was no problem, because the course needed to be protected. The food in the restaurant is a very good value and always good. My group always enjoys ourrounds at Hughes Creek.
Our new favorite course
This is our new favorite course. A bit of a drive (40 minutes) but well worth it. Beautiful views, elevation changes, minimal adjacent fairways .
Hi thejob. We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. Thanks for visiting us. We hope to see you again in the future.
