Nice fairly straightforward track
First time at Hughes Creek - late season and was able to scoot around in 2.5 hours. Course was in decent condition and didn't notice any recent aeration marks on the greens. Nice challenging uphill finishers for each nine towards the clubhouse. Back nine plays very long with back to back 400 yard plus par 4's (12th & 13th) from the white tees. The par 4 16th was my favorite...some very interesting holes intermixed with what I'd term average flatland design. Enjoyable, playable and decently maintained.....just not a course that makes we want to play it all the time/everyday....a nice once a year adventure and I'll place it on the list of possible plays next summer. 3.5 stars in my book but the green fee must be $30 or less for me to consider.
Greens aeration
I wish we would have been told that the front nine greens were going to aerated and we had to play the back nine twice. I would have scheduled another day.
Scenic course
Enjoyed re-playing this course after many years. Overall course and greens in good shape. Good value and nice clubhouse.
Great course
It was only our second time playing the course and definitely going back. Course is in great shape and everyone friendly. Very enjoyable day.
great Value
course is in excellent condition, lots of work going into tees and bunkers, should keep the course in great shape through the fall
Excellent Course.
This is my favorite course. It has wide fairways and excellent greens. It is hilly and has great views The staff and food are excellent. Great value for the money.
Very playable
Our tee time was delayed by a downpour. The course was playable very quickly. I want to go back and play all 18 holes.
Great Course for the Money
Played Labor Day weekend. Course was in great shape. Staff very friendly. Pace of play was a little slow, but not unexpected for a holiday weekend. Would highly recommend.
OK County course.
Fairways and greens on front 9 shows a lot of wear. Back 9 in much better shape. Staff was very friendly.
Escape the workday
Huges has a great course, well maintained. A few holes pose a decent challenge to any skill level golfer. Overall its a great course for the weekend warrior who wants to get out and play.
A great course
We enjoyed the round at Hughes Creek. A great course on a great day. Will go back again this season.
Great Value
The course has matured from the last time I played 12 years ago. Greens was in great shape. Good layout where it allows a variety of club selection each hole.
A very relaxing Friday morning round. Fast play, 3.20 hr round. Great staff and facility. While the carts does not offer GPS, I prefer it this way to keep the cost down. I typically walk when I play but I cannot pass up a great deal when I see one.
We will definitely come back and it shouldn't take another 12 years....
Great course to play . Very friendly people to pair up with.
Great course .
Friendly people to pair up with.
We had a twosome and joined another person who pointed out each hole that had trouble spots or a safe way to play.
It's worth the drive
I haven joyed playing this course. It is quite far from Chicago, but is a great value. There is a grata deal of protected wetlands, but that did not diminish play. Was able to finish the round in just about 4 hours. I recommend this course
GREAT course!
This is my home course. I try to play about 2 times a week if possible. This course can be challenging with nature areas all over and out of bounds and hazards. The course itself isnt to hard as I usually shoot upper 70s to upper 80s. Play this course from the blue tees. Its pretty wide open and holes are a good distance apart. Par 5s are not to hard. The 16th hole is drivable for the long hitters BUT its a blind tee shot as the center of the fairway drops to the green about 50 yards. The drive if hit over hill, it will run to the green if firm. Greens are sandy but smooth. Pace of play can be very slow if you get a few foursomes ahead of you. VERY great course to play for the cost.
An Old Reliable
One of my regulars.
I go here because I get exactly what I expect one and time again. Quality experience at a great price.
Today I arrived a single. Stater recommended I play the back first since a bunch of foursomes just went out. Played the back in a leisurely 75 minutes. Continued on front and paired up with a twosome at 6 to finish in 3.25 hrs.
I get great service here all the time. Thanks to Sam and his staff!
