Staff is friendly and put together. Love the course history, accessibility, view and and overall vibe.
Great course for a beginner working on irons.
Greens are fine, touch fast.
Tee boxes can be a bit scrubby.
Overall very enjoyable course and I would return. Played in a pair of higher handicappers a little under 3 hours.

Community golf at its finest
Really fun, challenging, and unique course set in the heart of beautiful Evanston and Wilmette neighborhoods. Perfect for walking. Golf the way it was meant to be: fast, fun, and affordable.

Terrible Condition
No way this course can be almost 4 stars. The grounds were in horrible shape. There was nothing that separated fairways or tee boxes. Many of the greens were half dirt. I could barely even get the tee in the ground it was because it was so hard. The fact they charged over over 60.00 to ride is robbery. This place either needs to put some serious money and work into the course or should just close.

Dead grass everywhere
Most greens are horrendous. Dead spots and random bumps that don’t belong in the natural slopes of a green. Dirt patches make putting difficult.
Many tee boxes have minimal grass and they are HARD! It’s like hitting off concrete.
Grounds crew is rude and consistently mowing during my rounds also sprinklers are on and flooding dead greens during my rounds too.

Family Friendly
This course is affordable, youth friendly, and has a nice range of yardages that require a variety of clubs for such a short course. It’s a great place for someone who is learning, and I’m envious of the kids who will grow up with this course in their backyard.
What it’s not is somewhere that has manicured fairways. A lot of the ground nearby the greens is more or less dirt patches. The greens are in poor shape. A lot of the fairways are extremely narrow and have large trees that come into play. The layout of the course is confusing, but in fairness, it doubles as a neighborhood park.
Personally, this isn’t a course I would return to. But I appreciate the service that it provides to the community and would certainly recommend it for anyone who has a young golfer learning the game.

Good for a practice round
It's not bad if you're looking to get a practice round in but the course isn't in great condition, the fairways are narrow, and it's difficult to find the next hole in some cases. However, for a mid-week practice round alone it served its purpose.

Hidden Gem
I’ve ridden my bike by and driven by over the years but never played until now. Already can’t wait to get back. So close to the city yet felt like vacation far away.

Windy but Mild
This course is made for longer irons, hybrids and some fairway woods off the tee with wedge shots into the greens. It has some challenging holes and several opportunities to make mistakes and to make pars and even birdies. Snack Shack was open and brats off the grill at the 9th hole were excellent. Long and narrow course is perfect for walking and the houses and sites that are passed are historic. Good course for all levels of golf.

Much Improved
I have not played this course in a while, and the conditions and overall design are much improved. Very nice, shorter course you can do in 3 hrs.

Rare urban oasis!
A great, casual and short course in an urban setting, which is pretty unique. I loved seeing all the young campers learning the game; the next generation is in good hands. Also saw a huge array of birds along the canal. And almost got lucky with an ace on 13...(see photo).
