pace of play should be a main goal ...you should stress on players to keep up with the group ahead....rangers should be polite but firm in moving people along.
GPS issues
Great time at Glenview. The on cart GPS can be confusing and too complicated. And the food ordering app was not working causing back-up at the turn.
review
Course rangers should be polite but firm in moving slower groups...Ann employee in the club house area said they were told not to saying anything to enhance the speed of play to slower groups.
Yesterday, a group was eating their hot dogs while the 10th green was open for 20 minutes.
Apparently the idea of keeping up with the group ahead has not caught on.
Fairway divots and ball marks on greens just be a green keepers nightmare on this course.
Good/Bad
BAD
Pace of Play
1.3 par 3's that few can hit causes pace of play to decline--lengthen some short par 4's and shorten the three par threes.
2. The chef's insistence that hog dogs must be "fresh" add to the problem. ..according to employees it add 5 - 7 minutes to get the food.
Call ahead and pick it up...eat walking down the 10th hole.
Course Conditions
1. tee boxes are a disaster...tough to find a place to tee up
2. find a way to get the divot mix used..discouraging to see hundreds of open deep gouges on the fairways...must be a way to get divot mix used.
GOOD
1. Friendly staff in golf shop and on the course..
2. Rangers take their job seriously to monitor the place of play. and use discipline where needed...unfortunately some things or people are beyond their scope.
pace of play/ conditions
tough to have a 4 hour round with three par threes that 99% of the players can't reach in one; coupled with a restaurant that insists on serving "fresh" hot dogs between nines..
16 is the goofiest hole I've ever played...and I've played a lot of Pete Dye courses.
Sand in bunkers is way too soft...tough to control especially when not raked.
All staff members are 5 star.
Sanded greens. Come on
Very nice course typically. Greens were sanded with no warning. Starter was condescending.
course condition
overall fairways are good...greens medium to slow..lots of unfixed ball marks by players.
Tee boxes are a disaster with no divot mix ad the same for most holes where wedges are used. Apparently there is no lace to store divot mix...somebody should have thought of that first before they built the cart barn or whatever it is back of three green.
Nice course, greens need some work.
Staff is great. Bunker placements make this course challenging. The bunkers were firm and dusty. The greens were slow and looked beat up. I was disappointed to not be able to chip prior to playing. Putting green only.
Overall is an OK course, but I've seen it in much better shape.
NO explanation for no divot mix available from staff.
Other courses in the area do not have the problem.
If it's a money problem..raise the green fees: : but the course is always over watered causing
a nightmare green keepers.
With the amount of young golfer ie. hs golf teams..not replacing divots, I can't believe there is no divot mix.
Slow putts
Played first tee time at 6AM.
Due on green made putts slow.
Ground crew on every back 9 holes.
Friendly staff, nice layout.
Will come back for after 9AM tee time.
Mediocre
Rough way too long. You could be 1 foot off the fairway and not find your golf ball. It’s a par 70 course. With only two power fives.
Fun course, pace of play always terrible
Tee times are always 6-8 minutes apart and pace of play is usually absolutely terrible.
