About
Situated on Chicago's scenic North Shore, Lake Bluff Golf Club has become a "must-play" destination in the area. First opened in 1968, the course has a classic layout with front and back nines that are very different. The front nine provides a gentle start. The terrain is mostly flat and the holes are straightforward. As you move onto Lake Bluff's back nine there is more up and down and consequently the challenges are greater. Don't get too comfortable on the first half of the golf course because you'll need your wits about you for the second. Trees line the narrow fairways and the tricky greens all slope in one direction or another. Accuracy is essential. Water doesn't come into play but the doglegs and strategically placed bunkers provide plenty of challenges.

It was just fine.
No ranger on the course. There were some bottlenecks to slow pace.
Also there was no beverage cart on the course or water availability.
Poor pace of play. Almost an hour behind at the turn.
Tee boxes are worn, poor pace of play, greens are very slow.
No sand in the bunkers.

Course was in great shape. Crazy winds but course held its own. Impressed today!
Death march
I like the course and have played many times. Today the pace was well over 5 hours and I did not see a single ranger. They had let a group of 5 foursomes go off between 10 and 11 on a Saturday morning. It was painfully slow and the fact that nobody was out there monitoring it was very disappointing.
Great place to golf
Lake Bluff is one of my go-to courses. Nice layout, well maintained, staff are very friendly, and isn’t too crowded even on weekends. Very solid place to golf!
Course condition
I was glad to see how clean the course was. Very few leaves for fall golf
