About
Situated on Chicago's scenic North Shore, Lake Bluff Golf Club has become a "must-play" destination in the area. First opened in 1968, the course has a classic layout with front and back nines that are very different. The front nine provides a gentle start. The terrain is mostly flat and the holes are straightforward. As you move onto Lake Bluff's back nine there is more up and down and consequently the challenges are greater. Don't get too comfortable on the first half of the golf course because you'll need your wits about you for the second. Trees line the narrow fairways and the tricky greens all slope in one direction or another. Accuracy is essential. Water doesn't come into play but the doglegs and strategically placed bunkers provide plenty of challenges.

Course condition
I was glad to see how clean the course was. Very few leaves for fall golf
Average Course and slow play
The course is a good value for the deal I got on GolfNow but I wouldn’t pay full price. We had a foursome in front of us that was playing extremely slow and the ranger noticed and asked us about it but didn’t tell them to let us play through we were a threesome and no one was ahead of them. Overall it was a good day of fall golf.
Great course , Great staff
This was not my first time golfing here, but I am impressed with how friendly all the staff are every time. Staff always makes you feel welcome going into your round. Course was in good condition also for this time of year.
Good day at Lake Bluff
Had a threesome on a nice early fall day at Lake Bluff. Course was in good condition, except for the ariation going on at the back 9, which we were warned about at the pro shop when checking in. Course is challenging, but not unfair. It was my first time playing here, and I would recommend it.
Strange
Overall the course was great. Nice layout, fast yet receptive greens and everyone was friendly and helpful. The odd thing was it was over watered. Played it during that long stretch of dry weather and I don’t know if they were over compensating for the dryness but we encountered puddles in quite a few places. Granted it’s really not much to complain about but playing lift, clean and place in the middle of a drought was a little weird.

Enjoyed playing this course. Would definitely recommend.
Poor course conditions
The course is in poor condition and the greens were bad
Overall ok coarse
It was disappointing to see that there was no GPS for the coarse on the golf carts.
A couple of the holes the fairways were a bit tore up and were mushy
Other than that it was a fun coarse to play particularly for not too seasoned golfers.
