About
Situated on Chicago's scenic North Shore, Lake Bluff Golf Club has become a "must-play" destination in the area. First opened in 1968, the course has a classic layout with front and back nines that are very different. The front nine provides a gentle start. The terrain is mostly flat and the holes are straightforward. As you move onto Lake Bluff's back nine there is more up and down and consequently the challenges are greater. Don't get too comfortable on the first half of the golf course because you'll need your wits about you for the second. Trees line the narrow fairways and the tricky greens all slope in one direction or another. Accuracy is essential. Water doesn't come into play but the doglegs and strategically placed bunkers provide plenty of challenges.

Need to up game
I really enjoy play this course as it is open and low stress and well maintained. However, on multiple occasions there have not been enough carts and the tee time was quite delayed (25-40 minutes). Otherwise, all was great!
Father’s Day disappointment
Once I had the opportunity to start my round i found the course well maintained and enjoyed the set up. Entire staff we encountered were friendly, but that was not enough to overcome some clear management issues.
My tee time was 9:37 and by that time they were out of golf carts. We had player that could not walk 18. We we not able to tee off until 10:30 when the for golf carts were returned. How bout offering lunch on us for the wait….
When I arrived about 50 minutes early the golf carts were not available either. How is that possible. I went to use the range. Good news there were balls in the self service device but I had to retrieve an empty basket first. And lastly, the food in club house was pretty decent. However, there is a lot of opportunity to give golfers heads up to order ahead and how to on the course.
Overall, I could not rate this course any higher than a 3 because of that 1 hour delay, but I would come back if I need these management issue have been corrected.
One of the worst experiences
One of the worst experiences I've had. We had a 10:30 am tee time. Didn't get off until 11:00 and without the carts we paid for. 4 groups behind us didn't get carts either. There were groups of 6 play all over the play. 9 holes look almost 4 hours. The workers are also rude and did nothing to help or explain to people what we going on. Stay far away from this course

The place was packed, which caused a cart shortage and a delay but the staff was very friendly

A very good muni course that was a very good value for the $.
Nice outside
We started 10 holes around of the course, pretty good. First 9 holes r boring kind of back and forth.
Good value and good challenge without unrealistic penalties.
Could be better
Perfect weather.
Greens were very challenging and in excellent shape....would be even better if other golfers fixed their ball marks.
Fairways were in great shape.
There were ball washers on every hole, which was nice.
The tee boxes needed to be mowed.....and this was a Saturday afternoon!!
Carts were a problem (again)....our cart was the worst EVER! The gas fumes were really bad, the engine kept backfiring and jerking the cart about, unless you were going full speed. When I complained to the guy in the pro shop, he just shrugged and said they were getting new carts in June..
Golf
Nice course, little confusing for finding hole numbers and no paved paths. It was backed up and waited 10 minutes each holes, no Marshall to check . Otherwise good condition and well kept
