About
Old Oak Country Club is situated only 20 minutes from Chicago, but the beautifully wooded terrain shaded by mature oaks and hickory trees, makes it feel as though it's much further away. Originally opened in 1926, the golf course is one of the area's oldest and even one of the oldest in the state. It has undergone many renovations over the years but it still retains its classic character. The layout offers plenty of variety with drivable par 4s and lengthy par 5s. The rolling topography provides many of the golf course's challenges, from the rolling fairways and undulating greens to the elevated tees and blind shots. Mature trees tower over the fairways, adding another tricky element to the golf course. Old Oak Country Club is challenging but fair and still quite playable, which is why it has long been a local favorite.

Got rained out on the 7th hole. Hot deals should give rain checks.
Great conditions
Greens were excellent and rolling true, some sand traps need more sand in them, otherwise it was excellent conditioning for a public course.
Poor Customer Service
Got a good rate on golfnow.com...92 degree day. Course had an outing which made pace of play slow. Not much rangers could really do about it...However, refreshment cart service ended at 4:30. Didnt see a cart the entire back 9 on a 92 degree day. How does management allow that? If rangers have to drive around beverages so be it..Got into the clubhoise at 7:15. Looking for some food. Were told the kitchen was closed. On a Saturday with the course packed you dont keep kitchen open a few hours later than normal? At least act like you care and are appreciative of the paying customer
Be prepared for a slow round
Pace of play is very slow, staff/starter is rude and cranky, he could care less about people he does not know. Course is nice but greens are in poor shape.
Golf
I really like this course and layout. The value is good as well. Today their was a league and it was miserably slow. I quit after 9 cuz it took 2.5 hours. Kind of crazy fir a Tuesday afternoon.
Pace of play sometimes slow but overall nice course traps could have been better but rained in morning, nice course definitely recommend
