About
Old Oak Country Club is situated only 20 minutes from Chicago, but the beautifully wooded terrain shaded by mature oaks and hickory trees, makes it feel as though it's much further away. Originally opened in 1926, the golf course is one of the area's oldest and even one of the oldest in the state. It has undergone many renovations over the years but it still retains its classic character. The layout offers plenty of variety with drivable par 4s and lengthy par 5s. The rolling topography provides many of the golf course's challenges, from the rolling fairways and undulating greens to the elevated tees and blind shots. Mature trees tower over the fairways, adding another tricky element to the golf course. Old Oak Country Club is challenging but fair and still quite playable, which is why it has long been a local favorite.

Why haven’t I played here before
We travel to a lot of different courses and this is now a new favorite. I loved the greens and overall layout. If you like forested golf this is a gem, reminds me of Lawsonia. Will definitely be back only complaint was it was a 5+ hour round on the weekend in 90% heat.

Course was amazing!! Pace was a little slow but it was actually pretty good for a holiday!

Won’t play here again
The guy with short white hair running the pro shop is a complete stroke. Rude and not very friendly. The ranger let us go out early, not telling us things were going to get clogged around the 5th hole where we started waiting 25 mins a teebox to tee off per hole. The greens were ok. Some parts were fried, some were torn apart in some sections. Hole 11 seemed like someone ran an atv all over the middle of the fairway. If this is how they’re running this course now, I’d reccomend playing somewhere else.
Very nice golf course. Fun to play. Good conditions. Better to call the course to book than through golf now for pricing.
