Had a 7:50 am tee time and it took us five hours to play due to very slow pace of play. There were no course rangers to help with pace of play.
The greens are also very slow.
Won’t be in a hurry to return.
Old course
It's been years since I played this course, and it was a good outing. The greens were a little slow, and very undulating. Made putting a challenge. Staff was friendly. I'm playing there again next week.
Big fun at Big Run
The best overall golf experience in Chicago land! The course has some of the best views and challenges for any golfers skill level. Very well taken care of, nice staff. Good food and a great bar to relax in when your done. Big Run is our favorite and we play it at least 3 times a season!
Shame. Great potential.
Great course layout. Greens were in great shape. Fairways and rough were rough. Shame because this could be a fantastic course if $$$ was put into course maintenance.
Greens were slow but understandable with heat. Rough a little high .
Bad
Horrible. They didn’t cut rough grass for many days. Tall weeds in the fairway? Just bad, almost like they gave up trying. Years ago this course used to be good too.
Big Fun
Played yesterday, course is in much better shape than a couple reviewers claim. $42 weekday price for seniors is a great deal for one of the best looking and most unique courses in the Chicago area.
Great course!
This course is a hidden gem (it shouldn’t be) w it’s classic layout of trees and exceptional undulations. The upkeep and pace of play is great.
Tee boxes made for all levels of skill, but don’t take this course for granted, it will challenge
the best golfers, I guarantee that!
The staff is great and the bar is very friendly.
I highly recommend eating the weekend bbq of burgers and dogs!
Challenging Layout
Greens are outstanding and roll true.
Both the par threes and par fives give you all you can handle. Course is hilly and has a lot of nice vista's from the tee boxes or looking back from the greens.
Overall, if you want to play an extremely challenging golf course in the southwest suburbs, this is the place to go to in which you are not paying top dollar to play.
