Not a friend of GolfNow
So we showed up, even though it was raining heavily and the forecast was terrible, because I was skeptical they would be accommodating with my reservation... and I was right. These guys don’t like GolfNow and the head guy was quick and thorough with his disassociation with GolfNow. He went off. I told him I wouldn’t have ever come here without Golfnow and he was dumbfounded and told me I was on my own about a rain check. Clearly both sides are at fault and neither will take responsibility, so we get screwed.
The GolfNow policy is the course has to close due to the weather and the course policy for everyone else besides GolfNow is to wait 40 minutes, but they wouldn’t cover me, so I have to make the claim and hope I get refunded in over a week?!?
This should be much easier and I hope GolfNow recognizes this issue on both sides.
Great conditions at an amazing price!
Village Green is a wonderful golf course! The greens continue to be some of the best in the area. This course used to be our little secret when it came to playing. Seems like word has spread that it is an exceptional value. and it really nice condition. The staff has always been great even with the new stress and restrictions they remain welcoming and helpful. Give this course a try!
I left in disbelief
Putting people together in a cart, who do not live in the same household is RESTRICTED (http://www.cdga.org/detail.asp?id=718) due to COVID-19 guidelines. But if you book together, you ride together OR you have the option to pay extra for your own carts even though it was not advertised as such. I will never come back to this course. I am very happy that I cancelled and went home. Using your own cart for them was fine when they couldn't be open otherwise, but now it's an unsafe money grab. (TIP: Raise the price a bit for carts and then say, it's cheaper to ride together. LET THEM DECIDE TO RISK COVID)
Other than that, course was in rough conditions, IDK if they have a sprinkler system. Rough needed to be cut. Greens were fun and difficult. Tee-Box signs were missing and it's hard to tell where to go next since the gravel cart paths are all over the place.
Not a COVID 19 friendly course
My buddy and I decided to play here and booked under the same reservation. Upon arrival they informed us that it would be an extra $10 if we wanted to drive in separate carts despite the fact that we live in separate houses. This is not a safe golf course.
Value Course
Not too expensive; you get what you pay for. Tee markers missing on all tee boxes. Fairways were average. Needs better mowing and maintenance.
Awful
The worst course I’ve ever played. I’m usually not too much of a slob when it comes to courses but this course is terrible. The fairways are like someone’s backyard cut short. Greens are all chopped up. Would maybe only play here if it’s $10 for 18
Fun day
It would be completely unfair to rate this course based on today's round. The weather was weird the last few days. The course was muddy, but rain does that. I am eager to play this course when the weather is nice. It had a fun layout. I'd definitely recommend to my buddies that are terrified of water hazards. All in all, I'm satisfied.
Great price. Course condition average for low end /medium course.
Last time playing this course
Had a Golfnow time for 245 only to find out high school had a tournament going on. Ended up doing a round of 9 for 2$ less than the 18 on golfnow. The course was beaten up and not maintained at all.
I’d rather pay a little more money and play a nicer course.
Horrible Course- Terrible Service
Course is in terrible condition. Pace was at about 6 hours at 11am and the manager could care less. told him players were playing 2 balls and screaming drunk. fairways are dead, greens are filled with ball marks that werent fixed. terrible course. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!!
Great greens!
Played Village Green on Saturday, 9/15. Had a great time. Part of course is recovering from flooding in August, however it has been reseeded. The impacted hole is playing as a fun par 3. Nice change of pace for an otherwise difficult hole. Food was typical golf course food...great hot dogs! Course was in great condition and I must say the greens were incredible! Fast and smooth! Some of the best greens I have played all season! Definitely a fun course with great greens! Give this course a try.
Flood damage
This course drains poorly and several areas have unrepaired flood damage. Very bare areas off fairways. Poorly maintained. No drinking water anywhere on tee boxes.
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately two holes sit in a watershed. The areas that flooded impacts #3 and half of #6. Both areas were reseeded and repaired a week before you played. #3 was playing as a modified par 3 and #6 was completely reopened. To state that the course is poorly maintained and has bare areas, is simply untrue. There are few if any bare areas in the fairways and the course receives feedback as to how nice the course is. As for drinking water on the course, it is a policy of the course not to have drinking water on the course due to liability and player safety and contamination issues. It's for the well-being of the customer. Once again, thank you for your review.
I am the GM that dealt with this group. This guy's friend checked him in at which time he was informed by another manager that there was an additional $10 fee for separate carts. His buddy was fine with it. They then proceeded to go and grab their own carts. I went down to speak with them and this golfer was very aggressive. He immediately got aggressive as I explained to him the policy with him telling me "it's against the law". He then compared the fee to buying a $3 case of water for $5, that that's against the law too. I explained to him that the health department is pleased with our safety precautions/policies and that it is not against the law. He then proceeded to get up in my face without a mask on and throw four $5 bills at me. I told his buddy that he knew about the fee and that there shouldn't be an issue as he was told up front, he just hung his head.. As I walked away this guy made a rude comment to which I turned around and told them they could leave if they keep this up. He then asked for his money back to which he was told he bought through GolfNow and he'd need to recoup his fees from them. That's when his buddy said, that's why I don't usually book through GolfNow. So rather than allow them to keep escalating the situation I told them to go play. The abuse of staff needs to stop. Bottom line we are a safe course and have been visited by the health department and they agree we are in compliance. This review is simply inaccurate.
