Beautiful course.
I would recommend this course to anyone. Well kept course, greens are perfect and pace of play is smooth. I think for the price you can't say no and it's very convenient to get to.
A great value and worth playing!
Played my first round at Village Green in 2015 today. Eventhough there was a large outing the pace of play was excellent! The course is definitely in the best shape it has been in in recent years. Greens are slick! The course is well-maintained and in great shape even given the recent unpleasant weather. After playing here in recent years there seems be a much improved, professional and attentive staff. Had a hot dog at the turn and took advantage of their $2 burger special. Overall a great value and experience! I will definitely be back frequently this season.
Average at best
Fairways were dry and patchy. The tee boxes were beat up. Probably heard "fore" called 20 times and severa times that it should have been but wasn't. We stopped at the turn for food and a drink, food was below average. There was no water coolers on the course. The price was reasonable but I wouldn't pay another penny more for what I got. This is a course you come to in jeans and a tee shirt (apparently) to spray it around.
Won't be back anytime soon.
Please stay away...
My husband and I just golfed there today. We had the most miserable time there. One can only guess that they don't get many women golfing there (I never saw another female). Grumpy old men were hitting the green while we were still on it putting. Then we get a group of FIVE old men in front of us and they would not let us play through. I guess there are no rule there, so why follow them. What a miserable place! I almost complained at the clubhouse but I was scared that they would offer me another round of free golf and I really did not want that. I was so happy to drive away! If you like the game and want to enjoy yourself, please go to another course. Countryside and Renwood have always made us feel respected and welcomed. What a waste of a vacation day! To the old men that ruined our time there - I HOPE IT WAS WORTH IT!
Relaxing good day of golf
Wish this course had the big money to make this a really nice course. Yes it's end of season but the Tee boxes were quite a bit bare, clover growing in rough and some fairways. Of course you always have the ignorant people that don't rake bunkers, replace divots and fix ball marks...what course doesn't no fault of the course. Yes it's for the most part easy on the beginners but even I got caught on a couple holes with double bogey but still escaped in the low 80's for the round. Signage could be better for some of the holes #2 especially or you can be playing wrong holes or aiming at the wrong green as the one par 3 you can see two greens one left one right...aim right. Weather beautiful mid 70's no clouds course wasn't crowded nice relaxing pace of play that only took just minutes over 3.5 hours playing with my beginner wife that's not too bad.
Re-visit after 25 years
Last played here in the last 80's. Clubhouse unchanged, but adequate. Greens in better shape than I remember. Fair bit of crab grass in the FW, but not really a problem.
It was a fun day of golf and the cousre sufficiently challenging. Plays pretty long for the ladies at 5600yrd.
Would likely play again at that price point.
Poor customer service
I had an early Saturday morning tee time. This was my first time playing here and there was no one to take my money when I went in the clubhouse. After about 10 minutes someone finally came. After paying, the person didn't tell is the key was in the caet , where hole 1 was, or anything. Terrible customer service. Overall course was in decent shape. Good value for the money.
Great time
The staff is so nice and the course is in good shape. I play there often. They have good rates for Seniors
Fair for the price - good beginners course
A good course for beginner golfers. For people who play, this is not the course for you. Terrible bunkers, very poor yardage marker usage on parr three tees and some fairways. Quality of players out here do not have any concept of fixing ball marks, taking divots on the greens and near the hole. No ranger/starter ever on the course. Course was soaked from the sprinklers being on too long and it really hurt two of the holes. VEry slow play but I expected that with a wide range of player on this course. We played for $24/person with cart and for the condition of the course, it was about right. This course has a nice layout - but it is abused by the customers who beat it up an the owners who sink little to no work into it.
Not as easy as it looks
Great for the money if you use a coupon. There is also one very difficult par 5.
Course needs some work
The course is not in great shape. No water coolers on the course, garbage cans overflowing on every hole.
Definitely worth the money. Wife is a fairly new golfer and she enjoyed.
We will be back. Not too tough, but challenging enough.
Fun course to play
Greens were a challenge to read. Sand Bunkers need work not a lot of sand to hit from The course is forgiving allowing shots from the hazards. Great value with the Hot Deal price
Muni course
It's a good value golf course. No one was playing, as rain was in the forecast. Greens were slow, but ok. Fairways need some work.
Great value
sand traps need a lot of work: rocks minimum sand in flats. Challanging trying to read greens, grain is important. 6th hole is really risk and reward choice off of the tee.
Easy course but good value
Staff very friendly and course in very good shape.
Good in a pinch
Staff was nice course was priced ok for quality. Fairways were more trimmed weeds than grass but greens were really nice. Course was a little difficult to navigate we did not know where to go a few times and it would have been nice to have a scorecard with both the layout and yardage to hazards
Don't pay full price
Kind of a boring layout. they've got some holes dug around the front nine part of the course. I have no idea what those holes are for. They're off to the side, not on the fair way or anything but still just distracting to see this mound of dirt while trying to play. Very crowded day. 5 hour round. Not a bad day but......
Great municipal course
From the time we entered the pro shop to the time we returned our carts , each employee we encountered gave great service and we truly appreciate this.
the course was very much a pleasant, challenging layout for hackers like myself and brothers.
Very good course for beginners
This course plays excellent for beginners as par fours are not too long, fairways are wider and not too much tree interference. Only two par fives, and great par 3's to work your short game. Course is well kept and rough is easy hit off.
