Foss Park Golf Course

Course is always in excellent condition. Biggest issue is the very slow pace of play. Many players spend excessive time searching for balls in the woods and creeks. This causes major backups and takes away the rhythm of normal play. Players should be reminded to keep pace when approaching first tee.

I always enjoy coming to Foss Park. The course has a lot of mature trees and a mix of semi tough to moderately easy holes. Fro a Park District course, it is in phenomenal shape. Our foursome had a great time, capped off with a hole in one on 11.

Great value for money. Friendly helpful staff . Course in great shape.

Course was ready to play but, restrooms were closed so my wife who needs to use restroom while out on the course was in a poor situation more than once. Made it through front nine but had to run back to clubhouse while out on the back could not finish course and was very unhappy as it effected he ability to play golf! Unfair to say the least. Course was in decent shape but amenities like both sets of bathrooms to be closed was unfair to say the least. Also on a very warm day water coolers were out of water? How hard is for staff to check them and keep them full for golfers to stay refreshed and have water! Also bad customer service and safety on a very warm day! But with bathrooms closed I guess they wanted you not to need to use the bathroom? Sad for a decent layout in reasonable condition to do this to people who would expect more!

A little ways to drive but overall it is a nice place...

This was the first time I have a problem at Foss Park. I have played there at least 20 times since last May.

The normal cart guy approached my wife and me and a single that had joined us as we were finished up our 2nd shot comming off the fairway on hole one.

What he said was" I am the ranger (marshall) today and its hard nineties not soft 90's. I stated we are doing 90's but my wife hit a ball 15 yards and it made better sence to move up 15 yards and do the 90 back to fairway. He then stated "I said hard 90's" . He then grabed our cart key out of the ignition and said" Next time this is what will happen, and you know I will do it.

This guy was rude, threatening and should not be given any position dealing with the public. I will not play that course again with this gentleman on the property.

I like the place to play especially on weekdays no waiting between hole

Staff was very courteous and play was very smooth.

The lady at the register could use a 5 day seminar in customer service and a refresher every other month. I went to the restroom and I could hear employees swearing and laughing it up. Almost a year has past and I called and talked a lady, mostly like the same rude person and was met with 10 different kinds of rudeness. I thought she would have been fired by now, which is the reason I tried to give them another chance.

I thought the course played fairly open even though it is tree lined on most holes. The fairways were descent enough, although the greens were a little hairy. Overall it's an average course with below average personnel.

I went out with 3 friends on a Saturday at Noon. The play was so slow we ended up playing the front 9 twice in order to get our round in. The first 9 took 2.5 hours!!! I understand that it was a beautiful day, but it was brutal. I do like this course I just wish the pace of play was better. I will probably try the course again next year as this season is winding down. I really like the back 9 and was disappointed that I was not able to play the back. The starter was very friendly and I am not sure that a ranger would have helped.

Nice little muni, flat, some interesting holes, and large greens which were in good shape. Only issue was the absolutely rude lady in the clubhouse who was first off, ignoring us for several minutes because she was on her cell phone taking a personal call, second absolutely lost it and gave us immense attitude for not have 4$ in cash as a deposit for a cart. This was our first time playing here, and the first I ever hear about a cart deposit. After arguing for a couple minutes, and receiving continued attitude, it took a few holes to get the sour taste of the check in process out of our heads. Will never return to this course, so long as she is still there- HORRIBLE.

Although it was very windy, the course did a nice job on limiting the leaves..greens were rolling true..rough was a little hight though.

The overall course condition was nice. The greens were bumpy at times. The irritating part of this course is that they charged $2 for the cart keys. Not a lot but I've forgotten in the past to turn key back in. I noticed others have too since I saw some carts with keys in them. Only course with this key charge so not use to returning keys. This is how they make extra few $? Come on!?

Surprisingly good municipal course. Very well maintained with tees and greens comparable to .private courses. Fairways and rough in good shape. Enjoyed the course layout also. Compared to other public venues, a really good deal.
