Fun greens but slow pace
2nd time playing here. Not sure if it’s worth $60 in the end but there are always time slots available to play. Pace was very slow, got very backed up at hole 6th; about 5 groups waiting at south 6 hole.

Expect 5+ hours
(South Course) I had read reviews about the pace so I was expecting a slow round but we were through 8 holes after an 1 hr 50 min, so I was pleasantly surprised! Then we reached the par 3 9th… there were 2 groups waiting on the tee box, +our group as the 3rd, and by the time the green cleared the group behind us caught up to us as well. Nightmare fuel. I admit it wasn’t great etiquette on our part, but we skipped to the 10th hole and pace improved after the 12th. We finished our round in just under 5 hours (~3 hours for final 11 holes). If we hadn’t skipped the bottleneck at the 9th it would’ve easily been 5 1/2 hours or more. Aside from the pace, the course was pretty solid. Grass was in good shape for April, rough wasn’t as thick as some courses in the area, and I liked the layout. Price is pretty good for what the course offers but not sure if I’d go back considering the pace is clearly a recurring issue.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!
Mid-April
The sun was shining and the wind was blowing, but it was good to be on the golf course in Mid-April. I have not played the South course in a few years. Pleasantly surprised at how open and visually appealing the course was (trees and debris removed). I will be back shortly!
Nice courses.
I only play here in early spring or late fall. During the summer it is super crowded and pace of play really suffers. Both south and north courses are very enjoyable in layout and conditions. Very scenic course as it’s been around a long time. South is maybe a little shorter and not as straight, but also more scenic in my opinion. I played early morning so finished 18 in under two hours, which I always enjoy playing fast. They do keep course conditions up. More so then fellow golfers. Lots of not repaired ball marks on the greens. Not a mark on the staff, as it’s up to us golfers to repair our own marks on the greens.
Thank you for reviewing us. We see you rated the course 3-stars and are interested in learning what we can do to improve before your next round. Feel free to comment on this review or reach out to the team in the golf shop. We always appreciate the feedback. Thank you for playing Silver Lake Golf- North Course, and we hope to see you again soon.
Overall all season
I had the luxury of getting to play this course through the summer all the way into the winter. Easily one of my favorite courses. Any course that takes care of their greens the way SL does, makes me want to leave it the way I found it; if not better. The staff is wonderful, the amenities are top tier, and a course is as only good as it’s carts; and this one gets an A+! Drive is smooth, acceleration is pristine, handles like fine wine. I’m talkin usb chargers, sand & seed divot fillers, club AND BALL washers all on the cart. If you’re new or just want a nice but challenging round; take the north. Pro? Intermediate? Just feel like losing a lot of balls? Take the south.
Well maintained golf course
Beautiful layout in perfect Fall conditions. Always keep leaves off fairway and greens at Silver Lake.
Golfer
Course is always fun to play. CONSISTENTLY over booked. When you get slow players it is absolutely agonizing on top of the course being over booked. Pace of play was dreadful. Need Marshall’s out to check course periodically. Leaf removal was pretty good as long as you were dead straight. Club house bar is very nice Bill is very cordial. Why oh why is the kitchen not open? Five people asked for pizza and all were denied because kitchen was closed. We were inside at 5:30 looking to have a couple beers and pizza. With all the money you are making with stuffing the two courses beyond comfort one would think you could take $15 an hour to hire a cook. I’m sure you’d make it back in 4 hours.
