Watch out for the water!
My friend and I decided to play nine holes at Palos Country Club on the spur of the moment. It was a perfect autumn day and we started at 12 noon.
It was my first time there and it had as much water as I had feared. Luckily, I was able to avoid any of that kind of trouble.
The course looked good except in spots where it appeared there'd been flooding earlier in the season and the fairway was bare. Greens were in good shape and fair.
The only issue, which I later brought to the attention of the course and they promised to take care of, was they hadn't had any updated slope or course rating and there was no way to enter a score for the course for handicap purposes. LIke I said, the manager couldn't have been nicer and promised to see that any needed re-rating would take place.
I will play there again.
Slowest round
They allow 5-somes to go out and the pace of play is horrible.
Southmoor
Challenging course with lots of water and bunkers. The fairways and greens need work.
Horrible Shape
The course was completely run down and no markers where the next hole was- I am sure if the course was maintained it would be a great course
Value but could be so much more
The course is beaten up: Tee boxes are weeds, flooding on several holes and no retaining walls in sight, abandoned and unmaintained cart paths, no sand in the bunkers, on the entire course, carts are in bad need of maintenance as well and more! It was kind of sad as it is a very pretty course and at it’s prime would of been amazing to play but lack of proper care is prevalent.
Excellent
I needed 9 to loosen up tor tomorrow. Wow though I had to wait I backtracked a couple for extra holes when waiting. Excellent friendly staff and I had gotten club I had lost. 🙋♂️😊😊
Good nine hole course would be great if green edges on some holes where better but I’ll play again
Nice Layout
Good 9 hole course with a few challenges. Sr. rates are good also. Just needs a little TLC and an improved practice green near 1st tee.
