About
Mystic Oak Golf Course in Waterloo has a diverse layout that seems to play a little differently each time you're on it. The layout features long, winding fairways and gently sloping greens, which are framed by a slew of strategically placed bunkers. There are also many water hazards that come into play throughout the golf course. The gently rolling terrain has subtle ups and downs that provide tricky uneven lies. The back nine is uniquely divided into three par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s each. The golf course will test your short-game skills but the lengthy par 5s offer driving opportunities for long hitters as well. Mystic Oak Golf Course is player friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels but you may be surprised to find yourself using all the clubs in your bag.

The last time I played this course was two years ago. When I played it this past week, it was in waaaay better condition than it was a few years ago. The staff seemed to not care a couple years ago and I was pleasently surprised to see it was looking this good this season already. I actually saw the grounds crew out working to keep the course up. I would recommend playing here.
Great recovery
I golfed this course last year and it was in horrible shape, staff was aware of problems and working on fixing it. With new grounds crew course in great shape compared to last year. Conditions have made a complete 180 from last year. This course is now one of my favorites for the price.
Good variety of holes
Course was kind of rough and greens were way too slow, but understand with new greens keeper that they will improve...
The course was very wet
The course was not In very good condition. Greens were in bad shape on some holes.
Poor conditions
course is in terrible shape. tees, fairways and most greens are in bad condition. price was resonable but i wouldn't recommend it.

Several bad greens
We had heard that there were some bad greens but thought we would check it out ourselves. There were 2 greens that we could not putt on at all. There were a few other greens that we had to move the ball around in order to putt. They had a 2 putt rule on those greens. The fairways were in good shape. We probably won't play there till they fix the greens.
Practice Round
Played this course for a preview to playing a tournament next weekend. Also played in early spring of this year, the new course management has begun what will be an uphill climb to fixing all the problems from previous management and are going in the right direction. Greens are looking much better, but fairways still need a lot of attention, as do the tee boxes. Overall it was not that bad of an outing for the price I paid. ( $19 with cart).
Mystic Oak, inexpensive for a reason
Friendly and attentive staff listed first for a reason.
Course conditions not up to par. Needs a lot of work on the front 9 greens.
Excellent service from the pro shop and bar or there would be fewer stars. Pace of play fast, not a lot of players on the course.

Greens...what greens?
Did they fire their groundskeeper? 12 of 18 greens were unputtable and apparently when they lost the greens they stopped watering the fairways I used to love this course don't know what happened to it two months ago it was great! The listing on this course should now come with a player advisory due to poor conditions
Greens are bad
I love this course, but the greens are in real bad shape. I cannot recommend because of this.

The course layout is very good. Unfortunately the course maintenance is not. Atleast 5 greens where unplayable. The staff was very friendly but I will not be back for 2 years .
VERY POOR PLAYING CONDITIONS
STAFF WAS EXCELLANT. AMMENITITES ARE GOOD.
CARTS ARE EXCELLANT. THIS USED TO BE A VERY NICE COURSE. MOST GREENS ARE SHOT AND THE ROUGH IS ALL WEEDY AND FAIRWAYS ARE NOT VERY GOOD. IT WILL TAKE A LONG TIME & MONEY TO EVER GET THIS COURSE BACK TO DECENT SHAPE.
BUT PRICE WAS FAIR FOR A GOOD PRACTICE ROUND..
Poor condition
Tees and fairways are baked and hard as concrete.
Greens have a lot of crabgrass and bare spots.
Used to love this course, but it is suffering from neglect.
Don't waste your $.
Course is in bad shape. Over half the greens are gone. Tee boxes and fairways are hard as a rock. Been told they have new super, old lost job due to killing greens. Hopefully they can get it straighten out.
Don't waste your money.
It seems the wrong things are being improved. I noticed the large out door pavillion that was built and some landscaping as you arrive is looking better. However, the priorities should be fixing the greens, fairway and the tee boxes. Not to mention the lakes are full of green moss. Embarrassing really. Too many other places to play which are in much better shape.
Course has continued to improve. It is in very good condition now. Greens are great ! You should give it a try again (6-15-19: DGB)
