Mystic Oak Golf Course
About
Mystic Oak Golf Course in Waterloo has a diverse layout that seems to play a little differently each time you're on it. The layout features long, winding fairways and gently sloping greens, which are framed by a slew of strategically placed bunkers. There are also many water hazards that come into play throughout the golf course. The gently rolling terrain has subtle ups and downs that provide tricky uneven lies. The back nine is uniquely divided into three par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s each. The golf course will test your short-game skills but the lengthy par 5s offer driving opportunities for long hitters as well. Mystic Oak Golf Course is player friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels but you may be surprised to find yourself using all the clubs in your bag.

Excellent Greens
I have not played the course since it was under the name THE RIDGE. I was very impressed with the changes made and in particular the greens. They are great shape and roll true.
Beautiful
Had great weather, great staff greeting us. I understand they are under new management, congrats and good job. We will be back!
My only want, more descriptors/diagrams of the holes for distance. Due to a change in management, and course design it appears, GPS, both with phone app and dedicated device, was WAY off.
Thanks again.
Good layout but not well maintained.
This course has a pretty decent layout and depending on pin positions you could find yourself in trouble. The biggest weakness with this course is that trying to find a decent lie in the fairway is challenging at best. The sand in the bunkers was fluffy and not packed down which was a plus but the greens are rather boring with very little undulations except for couple of tiered greens. If they put some effort into the fairways I would probably play again but I can play at better maintained courses for the same price or lower.
Great first experience
I would recommend this course. Somewhat challenging. Nice staff, and great price. I will be back.
Great Price for Good Course
This was my first time playing and I would definitely come here again and play. The Pro Shop attendent was very friendly and knowledgeable. The course was in pretty good condition as the grass and other features are still growing in from a bad winter. This course played short but realistic features like dogleg lefts and rights made you feel like you were playing a prestige course. Pace of play was great and it seemed pretty wide open on most of the holes. Greens were very slow but again most courses are trying to grow and develop the grass for the hot summer months. Definitely worth giving a shot
Nice layout, poor condition
This course "could" be a lot of fun to play. The layout is challenging but forgiving enough for mid to upper handicappers. The problem with the course was the abysmal condition of the fairways. The greens (although recently aerated) and the tee boxes were okay, but the fairways had less grass in them than the soccer field that is in our local park. I am guessing this course is under rehab (evidence of some zoysia being started in the fairways) but most of our shots from the fairway were off of dirt(mud). I would recommend this course to a friend, but not for at least a year or two to let the fairway grass fill in.
Windy golf
Nothing like playing golf in wind that redirects the ball on a put. The courses difficult holes were made more difficult. I like the course because the back nine is a real challenge. This is a course that you must think on.
Feburary, greens good, fairways ok
Great getting out in Feb is good. Weather broke some as it was in the 50s. Greens are in good condition for this time of year. Should be great once the weather warms up. Price was excellent and staff very nice. Will be back soon !
B.H.
Enjoyable
This course has a great layout, but is sometimes kind of neglected. I have never NOT enjoyed playing there, though. And the price is always right.
If you're willing to drive to Annbriar and play for 70 bucks, you should be willing to play Mystic for $20. Great value.
Will play again and again and again at their prices.
Nice course, well kept
Nice course, decent prices, course is kept in good condition even for this time of the year.
love this course
Very friendly staff. Fun course. Definately a favorite. And my favorite part is nobody bothers you. Nobody comes up to you trying to, "move you along." my girlfriend isnt a great golfer and sometimes has "mechanic malfunctions" and misses the ball. They just seem happy to have your business there and glad you enjoy the game. Highly reccomended.
Fairways on the front in desperate need of attention
The fairways on the front 9 were terrible. I was told when I signed in that they were re-seeded in the sprint & hadn't really taken but I didn't realize it was that bad. The back was better & the greens were very puttable, however, they had recently air-ated them for some reason. Seemed like strange time of the year since it's usually done in early spring & late fall.
Great deal for a fun course!
$16 + tax for 18 holes on a great sunday afternoon. Tee boxes were in rough shape, but for the price can't really complain much. Greens were in awesome condition!
pretty good layout
Greens were good....fairways were bad. Cart path is confusing. Needs yardage markers..if and when the fairways grow in it will be much better.
The course has good variety.
The course is a good length with a nice variety in hole layout and distance. The greens were in nice condition and varied in size and difficulty. Water throughout the course really adds the challenge and interest. I enjoyed the course even though the lack of rain has caused the fairways to suffer.
Good course to play golf
I like the course and the cost of playing through GolfNow.
water sneaks up on you
greens were in very good condition while the fairways need a lot of help and they were very hard. Twenty five cents for a cup of ice water??? And a dollar deposit for the cart key. Makes one be concerned about the type of clientle this course attracts.
The fairways are in need of lots of work
The greens were in good conditions and the course layout is very demanding in a great way but the fairways are like playing on cement.
