Mystic Oak Golf Course
About
Mystic Oak Golf Course in Waterloo has a diverse layout that seems to play a little differently each time you're on it. The layout features long, winding fairways and gently sloping greens, which are framed by a slew of strategically placed bunkers. There are also many water hazards that come into play throughout the golf course. The gently rolling terrain has subtle ups and downs that provide tricky uneven lies. The back nine is uniquely divided into three par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s each. The golf course will test your short-game skills but the lengthy par 5s offer driving opportunities for long hitters as well. Mystic Oak Golf Course is player friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels but you may be surprised to find yourself using all the clubs in your bag.

love this course
Very friendly staff. Fun course. Definately a favorite. And my favorite part is nobody bothers you. Nobody comes up to you trying to, "move you along." my girlfriend isnt a great golfer and sometimes has "mechanic malfunctions" and misses the ball. They just seem happy to have your business there and glad you enjoy the game. Highly reccomended.
Fairways on the front in desperate need of attention
The fairways on the front 9 were terrible. I was told when I signed in that they were re-seeded in the sprint & hadn't really taken but I didn't realize it was that bad. The back was better & the greens were very puttable, however, they had recently air-ated them for some reason. Seemed like strange time of the year since it's usually done in early spring & late fall.
Great deal for a fun course!
$16 + tax for 18 holes on a great sunday afternoon. Tee boxes were in rough shape, but for the price can't really complain much. Greens were in awesome condition!
pretty good layout
Greens were good....fairways were bad. Cart path is confusing. Needs yardage markers..if and when the fairways grow in it will be much better.
The course has good variety.
The course is a good length with a nice variety in hole layout and distance. The greens were in nice condition and varied in size and difficulty. Water throughout the course really adds the challenge and interest. I enjoyed the course even though the lack of rain has caused the fairways to suffer.
Good course to play golf
I like the course and the cost of playing through GolfNow.
water sneaks up on you
greens were in very good condition while the fairways need a lot of help and they were very hard. Twenty five cents for a cup of ice water??? And a dollar deposit for the cart key. Makes one be concerned about the type of clientle this course attracts.
The fairways are in need of lots of work
The greens were in good conditions and the course layout is very demanding in a great way but the fairways are like playing on cement.
This course has a good layout, but need to maintain the fairway
This course has a bad fairways. They need to improve their tees off and fairway
the greens were in great shape
had a good day on course but fairway need a little care
fairways were in terrible condition
interesting layout
greens putted well
fairways were in terrible condition
Course in awful shape.
Played on a Sunday, course was busy but not crowded. On almost all the holes there was a complete lack of fairways. There was clover and weeds throughout and large bare spots where the fairways should be. Several of the tee boxes were bare. I realize it is mid August but I have recently played at several other courses which were all in good shape.
My new favorite course!
Mystic Oak is a gorgeous course! A few of the fairways were a bit spotty, but overall, I was incredibly impressed with its condition. There's a decent amount of water on the course, but the holes were fair. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we asked about the course. I can't wait to go back!
You could cut the grass...
We played this course on a beautiful Sunday afternoon...no cart person for beverages on course. Greens rolled nice, in decent shape...the rest, well... fairways were longer than my front yard with as many bare spots...tee boxes are a joke, no signs on course directing traffic through confusing paths (first time playing here) yardage markers are hit and miss, and it took 10 minutes for someone to come in to the "pro shop" (more worried about selling fried chicken to the tipping customers) to check us in...all in all I was very disappointed in the condition of the course for the price paid...not worth the drive
Course needs some attention
My group was looking for a new course in the stl metro area that was maybe a little cheaper than the $50 or $60 rounds in the area. We were disappointed with mystic oak. Fairways needed mowing, and were full of clumpy crab grass. Rough was mostly weeds. Greens felt like shag carpet, really slow and needed mowing. It was difficult to distinguish fairway from rough. The sand traps were in decent shape but really were not a factor. I am not a scratch golfer by any means and found the course unchallenging. The layout was simple if not boring. Additionally, the play was far to slow for a relatively empty course. I realize this may have just been bad luck, but I found it frustrating to wait 10 minutes on each shot to hit off of crab grass. The staff was friendly and the clubhouse wasn't bad at all. I understand paying less equals lower quality, but this course was suffering from serious neglect. Overall I was disappointed with this course and probably won't be back.
Nice Course
This course for me is good. I know the course and I play pretty good, if you want bad to mean pretty good. I go this this course a lot because I like it.
Very Accomodating Staff
Our tee time was mid afternoon, about the time a small league was to start. The manager put us off the back 9 and we sailed. Like having the course to ourselves. The course was is good shape - a couple of fairways are struggling in late July. Greens was nicely kept. We will be back.
this course is not in very good condition
the greens are decent but the rest of the course is in bad condition
Has many different holes
Took my 14 year old son, who just started playing and had a great time. We can't wait to go back.
