About
Mystic Oak Golf Course in Waterloo has a diverse layout that seems to play a little differently each time you're on it. The layout features long, winding fairways and gently sloping greens, which are framed by a slew of strategically placed bunkers. There are also many water hazards that come into play throughout the golf course. The gently rolling terrain has subtle ups and downs that provide tricky uneven lies. The back nine is uniquely divided into three par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s each. The golf course will test your short-game skills but the lengthy par 5s offer driving opportunities for long hitters as well. Mystic Oak Golf Course is player friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels but you may be surprised to find yourself using all the clubs in your bag.

Searching for a home course
The course was in decent condition. Front greens were nice back was still coming in.farways were ok. Challenging course. I just didn't feel comfortable playing at some points where people behind my group seemed to be pushing play.This was my first time playing the course and directions to next tees were not that clear. Overall good outing.
Good Day at Mystic
Actual start time real close to scheduled.
Greens in good condition given being early in the season (accepting of good approach shots, rolled pretty true when putting).
Fairways were good overall.
Pace of play above average for a weekend (only waited on two holes…completed round in just over four hours as a foursome).
Probably the most challenging group of par 5s in metro STL (especially playing them from Blue tees…they’re real long).
Real good food in the bar/restaurant.
Great weather, fun round!
Always enjoy this course. It plays fairly easy from the white tees but the greens are not in good shape yet, but that’s the overall condition everywhere at this time of year. The bar-b-que is really good in the restaurant and so is the fish. We’ll be back several times in the up coming weeks.
Don't bring a lunch.
Excellant and well maintained course. Very small area's on the fairways that were under repair, nothing outrageous just common landing areas. Multiple tee locations to off set this.
Although the grass was not fully grown in, the course played consistent on both the fairways and the greens. Several holes with difficult approach shots due to water hazards, a definite risk reward design to challenge the player into making mistakes.
Plan on eating lunch in the clubhouse, the course rents out space to a BBQ caterer, Mr. BBQ. If this course was closer to my home, I would make the club house a routine lunch stop, the BBQ is that good and is always a highlight of playing there.
Fun but Slow
The course is good for the money. We hit a few log jams along the way and had to wait 10-15 minutes to tee off. I will still visit this course on occasion.
