Great Layout
I try to play The Fort once or twice a year. It is a really enjoyable layout and the course is typically in good shape. The holes are memorable. There are plenty of tee options depending upon your skill level.
This unfortunately was a five hour round with a wait on every tee. I did see a ranger a few times, but the round didn't speed up much. Only other feedback is the greens usually are soft, so plenty of ball marks. With that being said, the greens rolled very well. I will be back and encourage others to check it out.
Slow Play
4 Hours and 40 minutes. Saw 3 rangers and no one did anything. The course is tight in spots heavy trees on both sides. Players constantly looking for balls, the rangers know which holes are the culprits and should set up so they can assist in groups finding their balls so play keeps moving. Instead driving around cart paths smiling and saying have a great day.

Beautiful course!
Course was absolutely beautiful! Challenging course but very playable at the same time. Plenty of options available in the clubhouse. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely make the 1.5 hour drive to play here again!

Had a great time until the weather cancelled the round
The Fort is a great course. Can't say the same for Golfnow. I have searched high and low on the web site and the instructions offered for handling rounds cancelled due to bad weather do not appear on the reservations. We finished the 9 hole then heavy rain, high winds and lightening ended the round. I am trying to get a rain check or refund.
A golfers paradise
You cannot have a bad day on this course. Yes it is challenging but the experience exceeds the quality of your game. Great staff and course!!!

You go play this course
This round started with heavy rain, but by hole 3, the rain went away and I was able to enjoy this round with my Father. This course requires good course management when playing shots, which feels like on every shot. Course layout is great, greens are fair, and staff is wonderful. This course will challenge your skills - go enjoy!

The Fort 5 16 2019
Played here with a buddy that hadnt played this course before. Check in was smooth. The starter was a great guy and we had a nice conversation. The course was in great shape fairways and greens but the bunkers were a little sloppy really really fine sand (nitpicky I know) but there was grass clippings off the fairways and it made for a tough time finding wayward balls. Over all this was a great day on the course and I would certainly recommend this course to all golfers.

Played as a twosome
Zipped around as a twosome being courteously waved through by five groups, fast greens and heavy rough rewarded accuracy. Sometimes this place can be snooty, like they think they are St. Andrews, but didn’t get that this time. Great round.

Props to the Ranger
The Fort is in good shape for this time of year. They have an ant problem on a lot of greens that I'm sure they'll attend to in the coming days as the weather continues to improve. That said on this perfect day, we were still trapped in the usual death march that can be found there during the summer until a ranger was nice enough to force the group that was holding up the entire course to stand aside while we played through. Averted what could've been a messy situation as we already had been hit into by the group behind us more than once waiting for these guys in front of us, so it was only a matter of time that someone would've boiled over, and the ranger handled it very professionally.
That said, the course deserves the accolades it gets for the layout, and it's always worth a stop.
