Sugar Ridge Golf Club

About
One half of Sugar Ridge Golf Club is situated in extreme southwestern Ohio while the other half winds up into the Indiana hills. The border location may be unconventional but the setting provides a dramatic backdrop. The course sprawls across rolling hills that are abundant with wildlife. Wild turkey and deer have been known to roam the golf course. The layout has a few parallel fairways though the trees, and hills give each hole a completely secluded feel. The back nine feels more open than the front, but that may only be because of the ponds and lakes that come into play on many of the holes. Throughout Sugar Ridge Golf Club, golfers will find that the par 3s are fairly straightforward and the par 5s have sloping, uphill fairways that make them feel even longer. There are a few memorable par 4s, notable for both their scenery and level of difficulty.

Always a great course
If you haven't ventured to or found this course yet, add it to your list and you will not be disappointed! This is a great course, with a challenging layout, some good views and nicee houses! However, if you like plain, flat or an easy course, go elsewhere. The staff is all friendly, the burgers and dogs have always been good and even the carts have a gps; how could you lose. Be sure keep some balls handy, as there is plenty to get you in trouble!
Sugar ridge
Challenging course with narrow fairways and unique greens.
SR
They have cleaned on lot of off fairway areas up but still some areas that need attention. Enjoy playing there.
Unkind staff
Fun and challenging course, but there were many abandoned construction projects around the property which took away from the beautiful surroundings. I booked a tee time online for my husband, and I called beforehand to make sure they allowed spectators. We were charged without our knowledge and permission an additional $10 rider fee. On top of this, I was sexually harassed by the older man running the front desk. He referenced me as “beautiful creature” and then later when I came in to inquire about the additional $10 charge that I wasn’t told about, he kept cutting me off and told me “hold on girl”. I’m not a girl, I’m a grown woman. Please treat your guests with respect.
Sugar ridge
Great course got 18 holes for 27 dollars ended up only playing nine but worth the money greens well kept and staff is super friendly
Don't play on Memorial weekend
Course was overbooked. Front nine the GPS said we were 30 minutes behind schedule. Like we could do anything about it. Pins were in tough locations not sure why.
Pace of play needs help
The pace was slow but that was fine. The real problem were the douche bags who thought it was ok to tee off 2-3 times each and then they sucked so bad they spent 20 mins searching for golf balls. I guess they didn't realize there is a maximum amount of swings/hits that you get per 18 holes. I don't mind a little slow play bit this was beyond ridiculous. I mentioned it to the ranger but he wasn't too concerned.
Never disappoints.
Really cool layout. Pretty nice Clubhouse with an outdoor Tiki Bar at the turn. Fun place to play.
help me understand
help me understand how it cost 23 dollars and we asked for a raincheck after 9 holes because of the rain and lightening but i only get 6 dollars back for each player i paid for. Why wouldnt i get half bck of the 23/? please let me know. Bernie
Great Course HORRIBLE Management
Used to be my favorite course. Now?? You could book 6am on a Tuesday morning and they’ll have 16 carts lined up on the first tee. You don’t pair people together & no starter on a packed Sunday???? Took us 3.5 hours to play NINE holes of golf, 2 of my buddies ended up leaving. Cart path only for quite literally no reason. There was a group of 14 year olds in front of us who couldn’t get the ball 50 yards in the air. Why you are letting people who can’t play do that is beyond me. Long as you greedy people get your money right? Not even to mention every single item in the pro shop is up charged a ridiculous amount $35 for a pack of supersofts? Do you seriously need that extra $10 when your tee times are like a minute apart? You’ve lost touch with reality and real golfers. Whoever is the head pro up there, if you have any respect for the game, quit your job and start doordashing or something. Absolutely pathetic GET A GRIP.
