About
One half of Sugar Ridge Golf Club is situated in extreme southwestern Ohio while the other half winds up into the Indiana hills. The border location may be unconventional but the setting provides a dramatic backdrop. The course sprawls across rolling hills that are abundant with wildlife. Wild turkey and deer have been known to roam the golf course. The layout has a few parallel fairways though the trees, and hills give each hole a completely secluded feel. The back nine feels more open than the front, but that may only be because of the ponds and lakes that come into play on many of the holes. Throughout Sugar Ridge Golf Club, golfers will find that the par 3s are fairly straightforward and the par 5s have sloping, uphill fairways that make them feel even longer. There are a few memorable par 4s, notable for both their scenery and level of difficulty.

Great except for pace of play
Took 4 1/2 hours to play 18 holes. Me and a buddy of mine had to wait nearly every single shot from the first par 3 to the 18th hole. Great course, but definitely overbooked.
Good Layout Slow Pace
First time playing. Staff was very friendly and course layout is cool. Pace of play was terrible. Took almost 5.5 hrs to play 18.
Sugar Ridge
This was a great track! Wish they had a driving range for warm up! They are making improvements right now. Wish there was a little more water and sand. Not a very picturesque course but very nice, especially for the value!!

Challenging
I’ve been playing this course since it’s infancy. It has survived many changes. It was unrecognizable today from the last round a couple of years ago. Improved layout, paths and amenities.
Appears to be headed in the direction of a great community course vs hilly country course.
Felt exhausted by hole 15, due to hilly terrain. Loved it. Had to push through physical and mental weariness.
Keep moving forward with the changes!

SugarRidge Golf
Great course for the price. Confirmed a Hot Deal with the $10/month discount. Staff is great with no hassels. Carts ran fine. Course is hilly and some tee boxes are far from the previous greens so don't plan on walking the course.

Pace of play
We had 2 tee times. I was in the second group that started at 6:54. We had a group yelling at us from behind multiple times during the round. On the 15th hole there was a starter driving around. Then on 17th tee he came back and told us to pick up the pace. We finished at 11:24 which was exactly 4.5 hour round on a Sunday morning. Which also includes it taking 10+ minutes to get a cheeseburger at the turn, and some tee boxes so hard that I broke 3 plastic tees and resorted to using a short tee just to hit the drive. I'm all for pace of play but just because a group is waiting doesn't mean the group in front is playing slow. I went to the pro shop at 11:26 just to show we finished on time. Multiple players in our group said they won't play there again. It will be a long while for me and I usually play 5-10 times per year there because I love the layout.
With a cart, this course should be played in 3.5 - 4 hours and not much more. 4.5 hours means you're playing slow. Sorry but that is my opinion and have played this course several times. If there is no one in front of you, easily played in 3 hours.
Sugar Ridge
Good price and decent conditions but course is super hilly with lots of gimmicky holes. Payed for 18 but course booked an outing too close to morning tee times and didn’t get to play the back. They hurried us onto the front but groups were backed up 3 carts per hole. We left on the 11th hole since it would have taken 3 hours to finish.

Prepare for 6 hours if you’re lucky
This is the second time playing here in 12 months. Now I realize why I stopped…arrive and there’s no carts available, putting tee time back another 20 minutes. Then proceeds to go 6 hours for a less than average course. Balls are nearly impossible to find in the rough no matter how close to the fairway. Won’t be returning until the clubhouse starts pushing pace on some of these other golfers.

Comfortable
Pace of play on front 9 was horrible but back 9 was good.
One of the better values in the tristate
Sugar is one of my favorite courses in the tristate! Short enough that you can score but tight enough to keep you honest. Lots of slope so expect some tough lies even in the fairway. Most greens are someone small and if you miss you will be scrambling. The rough can sometime be US Open caliber and it does hold water in low areas. It’s full cart path though so you can ride in any condition. It can be a little challenging to navigate the first time but there is plenty of signage to assist you finding your way.

Good Medium Skill Course
The course was fun to play, too many short holes on the back. The views are worth it, needs to be lengthened.

Decent local course but local league forced us off the course after 9 holes
My friend and I got an 18 hole tee time at 3:45 and got through 10 holes before running into a league with 20 teams on a shotgun start backing up the entire back 9. The starter didn’t tell us beforehand and then when we returned to the pro shop to get a rain check, we were told GolfNow shouldn’t have let us book an 18 hole tee time and the course was not at fault, which I only partially agree with. Course was in okay conditions but that’s usually the best it gets anyways. Random puddles all over the course and cart path only on some holes because of this despite multiple dry days since last rain.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. Our goal is to keep the pace of play running smoothly and to never have it too backed up. As far as the raincheck goes, sounds like you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow. When this is the case, no money is paid to the pro-shop so there is no money that is owed back from the course. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future.

Terrible
Paid for 18 holes and only got to play 7. Groups of 8 and 4 played so slow all day and had to leave the course early without even finishing the front 9. Unreal never had a day like that. Total waste of money trying to play today
